Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.
We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.
Detrice Fair, 19, 277 Arcadia St., Park Forest, was arrested on April 1 and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor when police on routine patrol in the Eastgate area observed a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Arcadia that appeared to have all of the interior windows fogged up.
Police were called to the 300 block of Dogwood on April 3 to investigate a report of a delayed sexual assault. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information.
Jaron L. Baker, 22, 21 Brook Park Lane, Park Forest, was arrested on April 3 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol on North Arbor Trail heard a car horn honking at him from behind. The officer stopped his squad car, and the woman driving the car told him that her boyfriend had just pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot. Police searched Baker’s room with permission of the owner of the house. They did not locate a handgun. They did locate a black box containing a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance, suspect cannabis, lying on top of Baker’s bed. Police also found a handle plate for a Ruger handgun in the room.
Police were dispatched to 30 N. Orchard to investigate a report of criminal defacement to the fence in between the Library and the Aqua Center.
Brittani L. Pace, 20, 934 School Ave., Matteson, was charged with domestic battery when police responded to a business in the 2200 block of Western Ave. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.
Police discovered significant damage to an automobile parked in the 200 block of Arrowhead on April 5. A resident called police and related seeing five male juveniles hitting another male juvenile with a baseball bat and simultaneously hitting a car with the bat. The resident opened a door and yelled, "Hey! I’m calling the police!" At this point all the juveniles, including the one being hit, fled the scene.
Sentoria M. Tyler, 36, 69 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on April 6 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to court F-4 in the first block of Fir St. in reference to a complaint of disorderly conduct. On arrival, officers located a subject who was later identified as Tyler yelling in a very loud voice, constantly using profanity, according to police. Tyler admitted he had been drinking, according to police. He was advised that he had to leave the area. About 25 minutes later, police were dispatched to court F-4 in reference to a complaint of disorderly conduct. Again, police observed Tyler yelling in a manner previously noted. A resident signed a complaint of disorderly conduct against Tyler.
Police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School on April 7 to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. A mobile trailer had been spray-painted.
A 15-year old juvenile was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when an officer working as a Police Liaison Officer at Rich East High School heard a staff member yelling for assistance.
Officer Sweitzer and K9 Aron were dispatched to the 20600 block of Lincolnway Ln., Frankfort, on April 7 to assist the Frankfort Police Department with a vehicle search. Nothing of evidentiary value was located, according to police.
Police were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of Main Street on April 7 to investigate a report of theft. An unknown black male subject, approximately 5’6”, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, allegedly stole $15 cash.
A purse was reported stolen from an automobile parked in the 400 block of Indianwood Blvd. on April 8.
Police were dispatched to the Western Avenue Medical Center, 23450 Western Ave., on April 8 to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. A tenant advised police that an unknown person or persons had spray-painted the east side of the building. The report notes that identical graffiti had been found at Forest Trail Middle School on April 7.
A blue Mongoose bicycle with a black seat and the phrase "Icehouse" on the frame was reported stolen from a house in the 300 block of Winnebago on April 9.
A Glock .40 caliber handgun was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Lester on April 10.
A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Niagara on April 10.
A Dell Latitude 600 laptop computer, valued at $1200, a 25 inch color television valued at $350, a 12 inch color television valued at $150 and a DVD player valued at $200 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Elm St. on April 10. Police have suspect information.
A window of a residence in the 23400 block of South Western Ave. was reported shattered on April 12.
