Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

Gabriel D. Hawkins, 21, 63 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 23 and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving with a suspended driver’s license and obstructing a peace officer, when an officer on patrol in court H-6 noticed the vehicle Hawkins was driving back out of a parking stall and allegedly exit the court at a high rate of speed, according to police. A passenger in the vehicle, Norris J. Little, 19, 717 Burnham, University Park, was arrested and charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor.
A red Craftsman rotary lawn mower valued at $175 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Neola St. on May 25.
William Bankston, 30, 1315 W. 73rd St., Chicago, was arrested on May 25 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Lakewood Blvd. regarding a domestic disturbance in progress. Police continue to investigate.
Keith Sowell, 20, 411 Winnemac, Park Forest, was arrested on May 25 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a domestic disturbance incident.
Mark S. Cole, 22, 67 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 25 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery. Dominique R. Cole, 19, 67 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested in connection with the same incident and charged with obstructing a peace officer.
An officer was summoned to the Park Forest Police Department on May 25 in reference to a report of domestic trouble. The alleged victim advised that she did not want to sign complaints and was advised on the procedure on how to obtain an order of protection.
Michael C. Crowe, 19, 31858 S. Will Center Rd., Peotone, was arrested on May 25 and charged with driving with one headlight, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcoholic liquor, and possession of fraudulent identification, when an officer on patrol on Sauk Trail noticed the vehicle Crowe was driving had only one headlight, according to police.
Melvin E. Edwards, 29, 53 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 26 and charged with battery when police responded to the first block of Hemlock, court H-6, regarding a disturbance in progress.
Angelique Young, 24, 1303 Berkeley, Ford Heights, a was arrested on May 26 and charged with aggravated assault when police responded to the first block of Apache in reference to a disturbance, possibly involving an offender with a knife.
A blue Mountain bike was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Merrimac on May 26.
Everett E. Beard, 19, 1018 W. 104th Place, Chicago, was arrested on May 26 and charged with criminal damage to property and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence when police were dispatched to the first block of Forest in reference to a 911 hang-up call.
The 6′ x 5′ storm window was reported shattered in the 100 block of Lester Rd. on May 27. A green rubber ball was found on the ground beneath the window. According to a witness, there had been children playing outside, but they ran away, according to police.
A juvenile was arrested on May 27 and charged with disorderly conduct when an officer responded to Rich East High School to assist with crowd control at the request of another officer.
A Mongoose BMX-style bicycle, silver and dark blue, was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Brookside Dr. on May 28.
The rear passenger-side window of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of South Orchard was reported shattered on May 28.
Whitney L. Williams, 20, 649 E. Glenwood-Lansing Rd., Glenwood, was arrested on May 28 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the area of the Court G-3 regarding a fight involving 10 to 20 subjects.
Ray C. Abrams, 42, 370 Miami, Park Forest, was arrested on May 28 and charged with assault when police were dispatched to that address regarding a domestic disturbance.
Dexter W. Harris, 22, 3244 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on May 28 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate complaints of domestic battery.
Police were dispatched to the first block of Hemlock, Court H-6, on May 28 regarding a fight in progress. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Jaron L. Baker, 22, 21 Brook Park Lane, Park Forest, was arrested on May 29 and charged with a violation of an order of protection when police responded to that address to investigate a domestic disturbance.
Terrance L. English, 17, 111 E. Sycamore #508, Park Forest, was arrested on May 29 and charged with criminal trespass to residence and criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the first block of North Arbor Trails to investigate a report of criminal trespass to property.
Joseph M. Cooper, 54, 1444 Center Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on May 29 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, and tinted windows, when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle Cooper was driving traveling westbound on 26th St. at Allegheny St. with tinted front driver and passenger side windows.
A rear license plate was reported stolen from a car parked in the first block of East Rocket Circle on May 29.
Charles Anthony Williams, 21, 3254 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on May 30 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.
A video iPod and a Bionic Ear portable charger were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of South Orchard on May 30. The suspect or suspects had gained entry to the vehicle by shattering the front passenger-side window.
