Park Forest Police Report – June 9, 2008

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.

Daniel Diaz, 17, 361 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 29 and charged with exceeding the posted speed limit, driving without a seatbelt, driver’s license not on person, and possession of cannabis when an officer on routine patrol observed the vehicle Diaz was driving allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit traveling on Indiana St. from Orchard Dr.

Richard M. Adney, 37, 326 Merrimac St., Park Forest, and Robert S. Bugner, 37, 347 Oakwood St., Park Forest, were arrested on June 1 and charged with obstructing a peace officer when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Oakwood St. in reference to a disturbance.

Ronald S. Golston, 33, 18800 Harding Ave., Flossmoor, was arrested on June 2 and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to secure a child under the age of eight in a proper restraint, when officers on patrol in the area of Hemlock St. at Court H-1, observed Golston traveling westbound on Hemlock St. while allegedly not wearing a seatbelt.

Two juveniles were arrested on June 2 and charged with disorderly conduct when an officer on patrol in the area of Orchard and Lakewood Blvd. was flagged down by an unknown citizen reporting a fight between two male juveniles.

Two credit cards and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Lakewood Blvd. on June 2.

An officer was summoned to the Park Forest Police Department on June 2 when a resident reported that her bank card had been used without her knowledge or authorization.

J. Bryan Taylor, 22, 219 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on June 3 and charged with possession of cannabis, driver’s license not on person, and improper display of a license plate when an officer traveling northbound on Blackhawk observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Blackhawk without a front license plate.

Marilyn C. Lott, 36, 321 Gettysburg St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 2 and charged with theft when an officer was called to the 300 block of Gettysburg St. to investigate a theft. A resident reported that while cutting his grass, he allegedly noticed an electrical extension cord plugged into an outlet on the outside of his house running to the Lott’s yard.

Police were called to the Park Forest Public Library on June 3 to investigate a report of criminal defacement. Staff members at the library noticed two bookcases that had been written on with black marker.

Two juveniles were arrested on June 3 and charged with violation of curfew and consumption of alcohol by a minor when officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny St. in reference to a possible disturbance.

The passenger side front door window of an automobile parked in the 23400 block of Western Ave. was reported shattered on June 3.

The driver’s side front window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Mohawk Dr. was reported shattered on June 3. A silver Pioneer CD player, a pair of earphones, and a black wool GAP dress coat were reported missing.

Maurice D. Angry, 20, 102 Wilson St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 3 and charged with possession of cannabis when a vehicle he was a passenger in was observed traveling eastbound on Sauk Trail approaching Minocqua with only one headlight.

A 17-inch 5-spoke aluminum rim and tire valued at $200 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Wildwood Dr. on June 3.

Michael R. Beland, 28, 2 Monee Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on June 4 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to that address in reference to an auto theft that had occurred in the previous 20 minutes. Upon arrival, police spoke with Beland who related that he came home from the grocery store, parked his vehicle in the driveway, and brought his groceries inside. Approximately 10 minutes later, he went outside and found the vehicle gone. The responding officer had prior knowledge that on June 3, Beland was involved in a rollover accident with the same vehicle.

Chadrick M. White, 29, 2872 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on June 4 and charged with battery when police responded to a business in the 400 block of Norwood Blvd. in reference to a disturbance.

Alfred P. Savage, Jr., 43, 234 Arcadia St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 4 and charged with theft when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arcadia in reference to a report of a suspicious subject who was allegedly removing aluminum siding from a vacant house.

The driver’s side mirror of the vehicle parked in the 400 block of Watseka St. was reported broken by an unknown suspect or suspects on June 5.

Police were dispatched to the 23400 block of Western Ave. on June 6 to investigate a report of battery. There were arrests.

All four tires of a vehicle parked in the first block of Apache St. were reported slashed on June 6.
