Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.

A driver’s side window of an automobile parked in the first block of Krotiak St. was reported shattered on March 28. The door of the vehicle was also damaged.

A window of a house in the 400 block of Niagara St. was reported shattered on March 28. Police have suspect information.

Marcel A. Hannah, 40, 3 Michael Rd., Park Forest, was charged with disorderly conduct when police responded to that address to investigate a 911 hang-up call. Hannah told police when they arrived that there was no emergency and he had no reason to call 911, according to police.

Four 16-inch tires with aftermarket rims valued at $1000 and a Snapper riding lawnmower valued at $1700 were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Springfield on March 29.

Lee A. Washington, 19, 4224 W. Arlington, Richton Park, was arrested on March 29 and charged with failure to signal when required, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of alcohol, and possession of cannabis when officers on patrol observed the vehicle changing lanes on Western Avenue without using a turn signal. Police also observed the front seat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger, Kendall L. Hollins, 22, 602 Andover, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with failure to wear a properly adjusted safety belt and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Sherman on March 29 to investigate a report of a missing adult. The man was located on March 30 and his name was taken out of LEADS as a missing person.

Marcus D. Durr, 20, 2244 Windsor Ln, Country Club Hills, and Angela Ford, 19, 3105 Holden Ct., Matteson, were arrested on March 29 and charged with possession of cannabis when police observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a darkened area of the Central Park parking lot away from the parking lot lights.

Richard A. Musotnen, 17, 26 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 29 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol shortly after 2:30 a.m. observed a group of teenage subjects walking northbound on the west sidewalk of Western Ave. approaching CVS pharmacy at 1 Main St. Two juveniles in the group were also arrested and charged with a curfew violation and released to the custody of their guardians.

The convertible roof of an automobile parked in the first block of Cherry St. was reported slashed on March 30. Additionally, the trunk frame had been broken and a dashboard radio frame was reported damaged.

The rear passenger door and window of an automobile in the first block of Cherry St. was reported shattered on March 30.

All four tires of a vehicle parked in the first block of Hemlock St. were reported slashed on March 30.

A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Forest Blvd. was reported damaged on March 30. The front driver’s side panel was scratched and paint had been chipped. The hood was also scratched and the windshield had scratches in it and there was a chip in the glass.

All four tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Sycamore were reported stolen on March 31. The owner observed a vehicle in the morning sitting on four landscaping bricks with all four wheels removed. Missing from the vehicle were four custom 22-inch Limited Edition brand "block" wheels. The owner related that the vehicle’s alarm system had been armed at the time, but it did not activate when the tires were removed. Estimated replacement cost of the rims and tires is $1800.

Graffiti was discovered on March 31 on the concession stand door in Central Park, north wall of the pavilion kitchen, an outhouse northwest of the concession stand and a power box northeast of the concession stand. The graffiti did not have any direct affiliation to any particular gangs, according to police.

Mark A. Blankenberger, 24, 323 Patricia, Chicago Heights, was arrested on April 1 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to Walgreens, 15 S. Orchard Dr., in reference to a retail theft report.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Cherry Street on April 1 to investigate a battery complaint. The alleged victim was treated by paramedics. Due to inconsistencies in the victim’s account of where the incident occurred, the number of offenders, and a lack of evidence, no further police action will be taken in reference to this incident, according to police.

The driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Hay St. was reported shattered on April 1.

The driver’s side rear passenger window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Gentry was reported shattered on April 1.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny on April 1 in reference to a call of shots fired. Officers Naughton, Hoskins, Jon Mannino, Houcek, Beilke, Commander Coe and Detective Baugh responded. A female witness related that her grandson was backing a car out of a driveway when the suspect approached the vehicle and fired one round from an unknown type of handgun at the vehicle. The suspect then ran north between 2 and 4 Apache St. A bullet struck the right front windshield of the vehicle. No one was injured. Police have suspect information.

Byron J. Lester, 37, 192 Park, Park Forest, was arrested on April 1 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ash St. in reference to a report of a disturbance involving a gun. A BB gun was recovered and entered into evidence. Lester and two others involved in this incident were advised that if they returned to Ash Street Co-Op property they would be arrested for trespassing.

Kwinton M. Heath, 17, 188 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, was arrested on April 1 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to Rich East High School to investigate a report of disorderly conduct. A teacher reported hearing Heath allegedly making threatening remarks during a class.

The rear passenger side window of a school bus parked in the Aunt Martha’s Head Start parking lot, 23485 Western Ave., was reported shattered on April 1.

Graffiti was discovered on the west door of the Central Park baseball diamond concession stand on April 2. The graffiti does not appear to be related to any gangs, according to police.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Shabbona on April 2 in reference to a domestic disturbance. There were no arrests.

The rear driver’s side vent window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Dogwood St. was reported shattered on April 2.

A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of N. Orchard on April 2.

A painting valued at $900 was reported stolen from the wall in front of the elevator at 226 Forest Blvd. on April 3.

The rear passenger side vent window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Forest Blvd. was reported shattered on April 3.

Marcell E. Lipscomb, 19, 19401 Cypress Dr., Country Club Hills, was arrested on April 3 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police responded to the Ludeman Center to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School on April 3 to investigate a report of an assault. There were no arrests.

Jeremy J. Kotash, 33, 211 Washington, Park Forest, was arrested on April 4 and charged with the domestic battery when police responded to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Michael Hill, 37 Indianwood, Park Forest, was arrested on April 5 and charged with driving with an expired driver’s license and violation of Bail Bond when an officer on patrol near the intersection of Sauk Trail and Windsor St. observed the vehicle Hill was driving traveling eastbound on Sauk Trail in excess of the posted at 35 mph speed limits. The squad car radar unit recorded the vehicle’s speed at 53 mph, according to police.

A black Polaroid-brand 19-inch LCD television was reported stolen from a house in the first block of Woodland Glen on April 4.

Police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School on April 4 to investigate a report of battery. There were no arrests.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on April 4 to investigate a report of fraud. The victim reported receiving phone calls from a collection agency in Cleveland, Ohio, in reference to an outstanding bill in the amount of $1552.20. The victim was unaware of any outstanding debt in that amount and was advised to contact the police to make a report of the alleged fraudulent activity.
