Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF) — Editor's Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

On March 28, police responded to the 300 block of Illinois to investigate a report of identity theft. The alleged victim discovered checks that were written against the her bank account in amounts that she was not familiar with, according to the report. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On March 28, police responded to the Park Forest Fire Department, 156 Indianwood, in reference to criminal damage to property. The vandalism, spray paint on a storage container, occurred at the fire training facility in the 0 – 100 block of N. Orchard. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Corey R. Murphy, 25, 14720 Indiana, Dolton, was arrested on March 28 and charged with 2 felony charges: possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon, and misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and aggravated assault when police were called to the 300 block of Oakwood in reference to a disturbance. Police also recovered a silver 9mm handgun, a Bryco Arms model “Jennings Nine” from the scene.
On March 29, police were dispatched to the 0 – 100 block of Krotiak in reference to a criminal damage to a vehicle. Three windows of a 2003 Dodge Neon had been smashed out. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Eugene Brown, 43, 405 Tamarack, Park Forest, was arrested on March 30 and issued an M-ticket for disorderly conduct when police were contacted by a employee at a business in the 300 block of Victory.
Raul A. Garcia, 30, 252 Marquette, Park Forest, was arrested on April 1 and charged with domestic battery when police were called to the 200 block of Marquette to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.
On April 2, police responded to the 500 block of Davis in reference to a firearm a homeowner wanted destroyed. The owner wanted to turn it over to the police department. The weapon, a Stevens model 86D .22 bolt action rifle, was placed into evidence to be destroyed.
Myles X. Benavides, 17210 Elm Dr., Hazel Crest, was arrested on April 2 and charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon when an officer initiated a traffic stop at Western Ave. and Algonquin St. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for illegal weapons in a vehicle.
On April 2, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Rich in reference to an aggravated battery. The alleged victim was transported to St. James hospital and admitted. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On April 2, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Tampa to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. All four tires of two automobiles owned by a resident were slashed: a 1998 Dodge Avenger, and a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Renee Smith, 36, 11421 Union, Chicago, was arrested on April 2 and charged with criminal trespass to real property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Ash St. to investigate a report of a disturbance.
On April 2, police responded to the 0 – 100 block of Cherry in reference to a robbery. A minor related that he was riding home from the store when 5 minor subjects stopped him, taking his hat, a chain from his neck, and his shoes. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Willie D. Thomas, 42, 503 Homan, Park Forest, was arrested on April 2 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 500 block of Homan in reference to a domestic battery.
Venetrise J. Brown, 47, 315 Dogwood, Park Forest, was arrested on April 2 and issued two M-citations for littering and disorderly conduct when police responded to a complaint from a business in the 300 block of Liberty.
On April 3, police were called to the 0 – 100 block of N. Arbor Trails to investigate a delayed burglary. No items appeared to be taken. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On April 3, police were dispatched to the PFPD in reference to a battery report. The victim, a minor, was pushed off his bike and punched, and the bike was taken. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On April 3, police were dispatched to a business in the 0 – 100 block of S. Orchard in reference to a stolen bicycle. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
Tareq Ma Soud, 28, 8013 Mansfield, Chicago, was arrested on April 4 and issued an M-citation for underage sale of alcohol when police responded to a source of information from the beginning of March that “there are sales of liquor and tobacco to underage persons occurring at Neighborhood Food and Liquor, 313 Illinois Park Forest IL,” according to the report. Detectives sent a confidential informant who was under 21 years old into the store, and Ma Soud allegedly sold the confidential informant a bottle of Bacardi Gold.
David V. Jones, 43, 296 Allegheny, Park Forest, was arrested on April 4 and charged with felony aggravated driving while license revoked, and improper lighting-one headlamp, and processed on a warrant out of Will Co. when police stopped the vehicle he was driving at Western and the EJ & E railroad tracks.
On April 5, a juvenile at a school in the 300 block of Sauk Trail was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when liaison officers were alerted to a disturbance in the main hallway outside the dean’s office.
On April 5, police were called to the 300 block of Winnebago to investigate a stolen bike incident. A minor rode his bike to Winnebago Park, placed it against a tree. When he returned, the bike was gone. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On April 6, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Winnebago in reference to criminal damage to property. A decorative flower pot was broken, and a window of the residence had been painted with black spray paint. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
On April 6, police were dispatched to the 300 block of New Salem in reference to a criminal damage to vehicle complaint. A white 2006 GMC Savana van had black spray paint on the door. There were no arrests. Police continue to investigate.
