Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor's Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

Beatrice L. Liggins, 32, 239 Arrowhead, Park Forest, was arrested on June 24 and charged with criminal trespass to residence when police were called to the 300 block of Minocqua St. to investigate a report of an unwanted person who refused to leave.
A cast aluminum patio bench was reported stolen from a car port in the 400 block of Tomahawk on June 23.
An officer on patrol on June 27 in the 100 block of Blackhawk discovered a white 2000 Sterling Semi-Truck with a broken driver’s side window. The window appeared to have been shattered by a rock.
Two juveniles were arrested on June 27 when police were called to the old Marshall Fields’ building in reference to a broken window, criminal damage to property. The two were released to their respective parents. Charges are pending after review by the Juvenile Division.
Jonathon Collins, 20, 414 Indiana, Park Forest, and Eric Piquion, 21, 251 Mantua, Park Forest, were arrested on June 28 and charged with possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Illinois with respect to subjects allegedly causing a disturbance and allegedly smoking cannabis.
A green Chaos bicycle was reported stolen from the back porch of a residence in the 300 block of Marquette on June 29.
Scott A. Smith, 42, 745 Red Oak Ln, University Park, was arrested on June 29 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle. when an officer was dispatched south on Western Ave. in reference to a complaint of reckless driving. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Western Ave. south of Exchange.
Brandon J. Brown, 25, 2808 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on June 29 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol on Elm St. observed a suspicious person.
Paul M. Behan, 25, 136 S. Mayfal Pl., Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, operation of uninsured motor vehicle, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia when officers were dispatched to the area of Western Ave. and Main St. to investigate a reckless driving complaint.
Eric J. Betton, 20, 74 Indianwood, Park Forest, was arrested on June 30 and charged with battery when police were called to the area of Court G-4 in reference to a subject allegedly breaking the windows of a residence.
Richard A. Adeniyi, 17, 3 Warwick, Park Forest, was arrested on June 30 and charged with possession of cannabis when officers on routine patrol on Allegheny St. observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway facing westbound.
A silver Panasonic MP3 player was repordet taken on July 1 from a 2000 Cadillac Seville parked in the 0 – 100 block of Cedar.
Two handguns were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Illinois between June 26 and July 1. The report was filed on July 1. The resident was away, and a friend observed a broken window on June 27 but did not call the police. The weapons, a “Ruger” brand magnum 44 caliber handgun with a silver scope (serial #5508298) and a silver ”Smith and Wesson” with a custom wood grip (serial #BKK7805) will be entered into LEADS.
Eric J. Betton, 20, 74 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis on July 1 when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Dogwood in reference to two suspicious subjects looking into windows of parked vehicles.
Kristin L. Stringer, 35, 3350 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on July 2 and charged with violation of noise ordinance (section 38-92) when officers on patrol allegedly observed Stinger repeatedly sounding the horn of a tan Nissan while parked in front of that address.
A juvenile was arrested on July 2 and charged with theft when police were called to a business in the 300 block of Main St. to investigate a report of a stolen bike.
Officers were dispatched to the Park Forest Public Library on July 2 in response to a report of criminal defacement. An employee discovered “signs similar to gang graffiti” written on the stall in the men’s room.
Dion Purchas, 20, 17616 Oakwood Dr., Hazelcrest, was arrested on July 2 and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and issued four Y-tickets as follows: improper use of turn signal, unlawful bumper height, failure to properly secure child in restraint system, and illegal transportation of alcohol. An officer on patrol eastbound on Sauk Trail observed the vehicle Purchas was driving allegedly with its rear bumper hanging very close to the ground and traveling at a low rate of speed with its left hand turn signal activated for an extended period of time without making a lane change or a left turn.
A dark gray Motorola Razr cell phone was reported stolen from a patron of the Aqua Center on July 2.
The ignition switch of a 1998 Hyuandai Elantra was reported damaged while parked in the 500 block of Lakewood Blvd. on July 2.
The living room window of a residence in the 300 block of Oakwood was reported shatterd by a landscaping rock on July 3.
A silver 2000 Lincoln Towncar was reported stolen from the Family Video parking lot, 375 Sauk Trail, on July 3.
A two person bench was reported stolen from a residence in the 0 – 100 block of Hemlock on July 4.
A juvenile was arrested in Central Park on July 4 and charges will be petitioned for battery and obstructing a peace officer when officers were advised of a fight in process. The juvenile was released to a parent.
The face plate of a radio CD player and an insurance card were reported stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of Ash St. on July 4.
Rashad Green, 21, 238 Allegheny, Park Forest, was arrested on July 4 and charged with disorderly conduct when police on patrol at the intersection of Lakewood Blvd. and Orchard Blvd. allegedly engaged in a fight. Two juveniles were also arrested in the incident and charged with disorderly conduct.
The slider window of a “Bobcat 773” construction vehicle was reported shattered on July 5. The vehicle had been parked in the 100 block of N. Arbor Trail.
Police were called to the 200 block of Mohawk on July 5 in reference to a delayed criminal sexual assault report involving minors. Police continue to investigate.
A T-Mobile Samsung T629 cell phone was reported stolen from a patron of the Aqua Center on July 5.
Steven J. Clanton, 18, 238 Allegheny, Park Forest, was arrested on July 5 and charged with possession of cannabis when officers on patrol observed Clanton walking westbound on Allegheny. The officer believed that Clanton was currently on electronic home monitoring, according to the report, and stopped him at Allegheny and Antioch.
Carvis R. Johnson, 17, 305 S. Orchard, Park Forest, was arrested on July 5 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were called to the 0 – 100 block of Hemlock in reference to a report of a subject allegedly damaging downspouts on gutters.
A plate glass window of a building 5 in the 300 block of Illinois St. was reported shattered on July.
Detrice R. Fair, 18, 277 Arcadia, Park Forest, was arrested on July 5 and charged with battery when police were called to the 200 block of Arrowhead to investigate a disturbance.
The west side outer pane window pane of a home in the 0 – 100 block of Apache was reported broken on July 5.
A black leather Coach briefcase containing a checkbook, a gray Acer laptop computer, a Blackberry cell phone, and a pair of black sunglasses, was reported stolen from a blue 2002 Dodge Dakota truck parked in the 400 block of Lakewood.
