Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor's Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. "Bored" Resident's Call Nets Trouble
Police were dispatched to the area near Hemlock and Indianwood Thursday, June 21, in response to reports of a man with a gun. South Com dispatch advised they had received a 911 call from a complainant stating they observed someone with a gun. When police arrived, they observed a suspect matching the description South of the location talking on the phone. Police gave chase to the suspect and stopped him near the entrance of Court G -5. Police obtained a phone in the hand of the suspect, who was identified as Dale V. Hamilton, 20, of 359 Forest Boulevard in Park Forest. After checking with South Com, police found the phone the complainant called from to be the one in Hamilton’s possession. Hamilton was taken to the police department. Hamilton told police he called the police because a person who resides in the 300 block of Hickory bet him $10 that he could not successfully run from the police. Hamilton stated the person called 911 and gave Hamilton’s clothing description to the dispatcher. When Hamilton saw police he took off running to try and win the bet that he made. Hamilton later told police the story about the other person was false, and he was the one who called 911 and gave his own clothing description and said he had a gun. Hamilton stated he was “bored” and wanted to see if he could out run the police. Hamilton was processed and charged with disorderly conduct.
Police Reports
Jordan Collins, 20, of 26 Michael Road in Park Forest was processed under zero tolerance warning to motorists under 21 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police responded to the 100 block of Well Street Saturday on a report of loud noise.
Police responded to the 400 block of Shabbona Friday in reference to a domestic battery. Upon arrival, police arrested Rodney Johnson, 40, of 474 Shabbona and charged him with domestic battery.
Police responded to the area of 1 Main Street Friday, June 22, the CVS Drug Store, to investigate a report of a woman pushing a stroller who allegedly purchased alcohol for a male subject who appeared under age. Upon arrival, police witnessed the subject, Jeremy Humphrey, 19, of 165 Hemlock in Park Forest, drop a small baggie which appeared to contain smaller bags of cannabis. Police arrested Humphrey and charged him with possession of cannabis.
On Saturday June 16, police and members of the Park Forest Special Operations Group responded to a search warrant in the 0 – 100 block of Indianwood. Police witnessed several subject’s sitting outside the residence on the porch. Police searched the residence and found it to be unoccupied. Police searched one suspect and resident of the house, Eric Betton Jr., 26, of 74 Indianwood Park and found approximately 5 grams of a green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. Police smelled an odor of burnt cannabis emitting from the subject’s sitting on the porch. Police arrested two suspects, Jeffery Henderson, 19, of Red Oak in University Park and Nathaniel Robinson, 33, of 8203 Laflin in Chicago and charged them with possession of cannabis. Police also arrested Tyrice Carter, 18, of 193 Lester in Park Forest and charged him with underage consumption of alcohol. Upon searching the house, police found one cannabis plant, a digital scale and one cannabis leaf. Betton later told police he only sells cannabis to his friends and only sold it to make extra money. Betton was placed under arrest and charged with production and possession of cannabis.
Police responded to a residential burglary in progress Saturday June 16 at the 100 – 200 block of Shabbona. Two juveniles were processed and charged with residential burglary and transported to River Valley Juvenile Detention Facility pending revue.
A bike was reported stolen from the 7-11 store at 425 Sauk Trail Wednesday, June 20.
On Thursday, June 21, , police responded to the 0 – 100 block of Ash to investigate a report of a fight in progress. Police arrested and charged Jason W. Heath, 23, of 9903 South Wallace in Chicago with aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer.
A grill was reported stolen from the 0 – 100 block East Rocket Circle Thursday, June 21, when police were dispatched to investigate a theft.
On Thursday, June 21, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Mantua in reference to a domestic problem. Police arrested and charged the suspect Clarence C. Cook, of 242 Mantua in Park Forest with domestic battery.
An ATV was reported stolen Monday June 18 from the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive.
A juvenile was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on June 16 when police responded to the 200 block of Arcadia to investigate a report of unlawful use of a weapon.
