Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.

Marricio Dijuan McCaskill, 28, 401 Rutledge, Park Forest was arrested on September 20 and charged with failure to wear a seatbelt and unlawful possession of cannabis when an officer observed McCaskill allegedly driving northbound on Indianwood at Orchard not wearing a seatbelt.

A juvenile was arrested on September 20 and charged with possession of cannabis, obstruction of a peace officer, and curfew violation when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Indianwood in reference to a suspicious auto.

Ernest M. Hall III, 51, 5 Wayne Court, Park Forest, was arrested on September 21 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were called to the 0 to 100 block of Wayne Court to investigate a domestic disturbance.

Delashay R. Atkins, 17, 416 Rutledge, Park Forest, was arrested on September 21 and charged with battery when police responded to the 100 block of Hemlock to investigate a report of battery.

Shelley A. Williams, 33, 5741 South Peoria, Chicago, was arrested on September 22 and charged with obstructing a police officer and domestic battery when police were dispatched to the area of the Park Forest Post Office in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Aaron L. Williams, 23, 2039 E. Hickory St., Crete, was arrested on September 22 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Tampa in reference to a domestic disturbance.

A number of gym bags/backpacks were reported stolen from a visiting volleyball team at Rich East High School on September 22.  The total value of the items allegedly stolen is around $2000.

Officers responded to the area of Washington Street and Westgate on September 22 in reference to a disturbance in the street. There were no arrests.

Two juveniles were arrested and issued M-tickets and charged with curfew violation when police were dispatched to Washington and Watseka Street in reference to loud subjects shortly after midnight on September 22.

A cell phone was reported stolen from a student at Rich East High School on September 23.

The drivers side window of a vehicle parked in the 0 to 100 block of Dogwood was reported shattered on September 23.

Two Audiovox subwoofers and a Pioneer 300 W amplifier were reported stolen from an unlocked automobile parked in the 0 to 100 block of Dunham on September 24.

An officer was summoned to the PFPD on September 23 in reference to a delayed criminal damage to property report.  A window of a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street was reported damaged.  Police have suspect information.

A 1994 four-door Buick LeSabre was reported stolen on September 23 from in front of a residence in the 300 block of Neola Street.  A check of the registration through LEADS indicated that the vehicle had been impounded by the Chicago Heights Police Department and towed.  The vehicle was located with a peeled steering column, without tires, and the radio had been removed.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead on September 23 to investigate a report of a burglary to a garage.  A resident reported seeing five to six subjects kicking the service door of the garage, attempting to forcefully gain entry.

A case of beer was reported stolen from CVS Pharmacy on September 23.  Police have suspect information.

A resident came to the PFPD on September 24 to report that her husband was missing.  Police continue to investigate.

A soda vending machine at a business in the 0 to 100 block of North Street was reported pried open and an undetermined amount of money was removed from it on September 24.  There was no suspect information.

Mike P. Horan, 52, 2711 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on September 24 issued an M-ticket and charged with battery when police responded to a business in the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate and report on an unwanted subject.

The rear side passenger window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Westwood Drive was reported shattered on September 24.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Washington Street on September 24 to investigate a battery complaint. A juvenile reported that an unknown subject came up behind him, grabbed his cell phone, and punched him in the face causing him to fall.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard in reference to an unwanted subject on September 24.

On September 24, an officer on patrol in the area of the Ash Street Co-Op’s observed a vehicle parked in the 0 to 100 block of Ash Street with a lot of leaves and debris on it.  When the officer checked the vehicle through LEADS, it was discovered that the license plate had been reported stolen/missing to the Orland Police Department.  The license plate was forwarded to the Orland Park police department, and a certified letter was prepared to be sent to the owner of the vehicle, informing them of the whereabouts of the vehicle.

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Forest to investigate a complaint of harassment by telephone.  The alleged victim was advised to obtain a copy of the police report reference this matter and contact her phone company to set up a trap on the phone.

Officers were called to the 3200 block of Western Avenue on September 25 to investigate a report of a suspicious person.  There were no arrests.

Marquita A.  Willis, 18, 217 Arcadia, Park Forest, was arrested on September 27, issued a municipal ordinance citation and charged with criminal damage to property when police were called to the 200 block of Arrowhead in reference to his disturbance in the roadway.

Police responded to the 0 to 100 block of Ash Street on September 24 just after 11:30 p.m. to investigate an unknown disturbance.  The two alleged victims reported that they had been robbed at gunpoint.  One reported that his car had been stolen, and both reported cash being stolen, over $700 total.  While police were questioning one of the individuals who reported that his cell phone was stolen, the cell phone began to ring in his pocket.  Police have limited suspect information and continue to investigate.

Police were dispatched to US Bank on September 25 to investigate a fraudulent check.  Police continue to investigate.

William D.  Steins, 48, 69 Park Number 909, Park Forest, was arrested on September 26 and charged with criminal trespass to residence and domestic battery when police were called to the 0 to 100 block of Park Street in reference to a complaint of an unwanted subject.

Ashley N. Rice, 17, 5407 West 78th Lane, Schererville, was arrested on September 26 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were called to the 3600 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a disturbance.

A CD case with 60 CDs and a $20 bill were reported stolen from an unlocked automobile parked in the 200 block of Marquette on September 26.

An officer was dispatched to the PFPD on September 26 in reference to a telephone harassment report.  While there were no arrests, police have suspect information, and the alleged victim was given a copy of the Illinois Domestic Violence Rights and advised of the procedures to pursue a criminal complaint with the Will County State’s Attorney.

Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Ash Street on September 26 to investigate a motor vehicle theft.  While en route to the residence, the officer learned that Park Forest police had attempted to notify the resident that his vehicle had been found in Harvey. According to the report, Ples Butler, 23, 356 W. 17th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested in Harvey and charged with multiple traffic offenses and possession of cannabis following a police pursuit which resulted in a traffic crash.  The owner of the vehicle was advised to contact the Harvey Police Department in reference to obtaining his vehicle.

Stephen J. Clanton, 19, 238 Arrowhead, Park Forest, was arrested on September 26 and charged with domestic battery when police observed two subjects fighting in the street in front of a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny.

An officer was dispatched to the PFPD on September 28 in reference to found property.  A resident reported that his stepfather had passed away, and while cleaning the house, located two guns that belonged to his stepfather and he did not wish to keep them.  The guns were turned over to the police to be destroyed.  The officer entered the guns into evidence after they checked clear through LEADS.

A light bulb was reported stolen from a porch light, and a CD case containing approximately 50 CDs and four dollars in change were reported stolen from an automobile parked in the 0 to 100 block of Dogwood on September 28.

A door was reported kicked in at a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Apache on September 29.  Nothing was missing from the residence.

A juvenile was arrested on September 29 and charged with criminal trespass to motor vehicle when an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Wildwood to investigate a theft.

An officer observed and reported a dumpster in the driveway of a residence in the 300 block of Minocqua Street had been vandalized, covered with blue painted graffiti.  Police continue to investigate.
