Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.

Robert L. Sykes, 34, 239 Allegheny, Park Forest, was arrested on September 1 and charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery when a resident came to the PFPD and filed a complaint.

A white 1996 Ford F250 pickup truck was reported stolen in the 200 block of Ash Street on September 1.  The resident reported the name of a suspect, and police are investigating.  The vehicle was entered into LEADS.

A brown 1993 Jeep Cherokee SUV was reported stolen from the 200 block of Allegheny Street on September 1.

A large cinderblock was thrown through the picture window of a residence in the 300 block of Forest Blvd. on September 1.

A red 21” Craftsman lawn mower valued at $230 was reported stolen from the 200 block of Dogwood on September 2.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Minocqua on September 3 in reference to a violation of an order of protection. There were no arrests.

A residence in the 300 block of Neola was reported burglarized on September 3.  Suspects allegedly entered the residence by removing a screen on an enclosed walkway between the garage and the house.  Eight  one dollar bills were reported taken from a jar.

Antoine D. Davis, 21, 22442 Arquilla Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on September 3 and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to State Supported Land when police were called to the Park Forest Aqua Center, 30 N. Orchard, in reference to a disturbance with a patron.  According to the report, when Davis was told he would have to pay to be admitted to the Aqua Center, he allegedly became angry, yelled obscenities at Aqua Center employees, and allegedly said he was going to “blow up” the facility.

Officer Sweitzer was dispatched to the 100 block of E 23rd St., Chicago Heights, on September 4, to assist the Major Crimes Task Force with a K9 search.  The K9 Aron was brought to a residence and given the command to locate narcotics.  While searching a bedroom on the main floor, K9 Aron alerted by biting and scratching on a dresser, and also alerted to a small Sentry safe located in the hallway closet.  Police found a marijuana cigarette in the dresser.  A key could not be found for the Sentry safe, so it was not opened at the scene, but secured by the Task Force and will be opened at a later time.

An officer was dispatched to Freedom Hall, 410 Lakewood Blvd., on September 4 to investigate criminal damage to property.  An employee informed the officer that she discovered a hole in a window on the south side of Freedom Hall.  The officer observed the damaged window, approximately 4’ x 6’ in size, and determined the hole was caused by a pellet from a BB gun.  There is no suspect information.

A black purse was reported stolen from the front seat of an automobile parked in the 100 block of Indianwood Blvd. on September 4.  The resident had left the purse in the car and returned to her residence for about 15 minutes, forgetting to lock the car door.

Two vehicles were reported damaged on September 4 while parked overnight in the parking lot of School District 163, 242 S. Orchard.   A white 2001 Ford Utilimaster box van had a windshield broken and a substance, possibly acid, was thought to have been poured into the gas tank; a red 2000 Ford F250 pick up truck was found to have scratches in the paint on the driver’s side and dirt had possibly been poured in the gas tank.

A window and a wooden bench at Forest Trail Middle School were reported damaged on September 4.  A classroom window had a circular hole approximately 5” in diameter, and appeared to have been caused by an object similar to a baseball.  The bench had been removed and placed into a dumpster and appeared to have been broken apart into several pieces by an unknown blunt object.

A maroon 1990 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight (IL plate 6391389) was reported stolen from the 300 block of Todd St. on September 4.  The resident reported being woken up by a call from the Markham PD which had located the vehicle on Kedzie Ave. north of 167th St.  The rear passenger window had been shattered and the steering wheel peeled.  There is no further suspect information.

Officer Sweitzer was dispatched to the intersection of Cornelle and Dartmouth in Matteson on September 5 to assist an outside agency.  K9 Aron was employed to search a suspect vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotics.  Police recovered 3 burnt marijuana cigarettes and several small empty clear plastic baggies in the vehicle, according to the report.

A window of a residence in the 0 – 100 block of Apache was reported damaged on September 5.  An officer observed a small hole and several cracks.  The report indicates the window had possibly been damaged by a BB pellet.

A vehicle dolley valued at $5,000 was reported stolen from the U-Haul facility, 2210 Western Ave., on September 5.

Willie D. Thomas, Jr., 43, 503 Homan, Park Forest, was arrested on September 5 and charged with violation of an order of protection, domestic battery, and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery when police were called to the 500 block of Homan in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Artelia M. Brooks, 34, 2301 W. 119th St., Blue Island, was arrested on September 5 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were called to the 0 – 100 block of Indianwood Blvd. in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint.

Maurion A. Lacy, 20, 3425 Kings Rd., Apt. 210, Steger, and Ryan E. Potts, 19, 404 W. 34th St., Apt. 314, were arrested on September 5 and charged with trespass to State Supported Property when an officer working as a liaison officer at Rich East High School was informed that three subjects that did not appear to be students were inside the school property, possibly causing a disturbance.  The third subject could not be located.

Antonio D. Jones, 20, 432 Indianwood, Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with domestic battery and obstructing a peace officer when police were called to the 400 block of Indianwood to check the well being of a resident.

All four tires of a silver 2001 Ford Mustang GT parked in the 23400 block of S. Western Ave. were reported slashed on September 7.
