Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.
We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.
Shanya R. Bishop, 27, 4220 Clark, Richton Park, was arrested on September 8 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Forest in reference to a disturbance.
Ulus Burke III, 36, 102 Nanti, Park Forest, was arrested on September 8 and charged with domestic battery when police were called to the 100 block of Nanti in reference to a domestic problem.
Mark A. McKay, 19, 1111 N. 130th Pl., Riverdale, was arrested on September 8 and charged with attempt obstructing justice when police were dispatched to the area of Hemlock St. & Court H-6 to investigate a disturbance, fight in progress. When police arrived, McKay allegedly provided a different name and birth date when asked to identify himself.
A blue pocket bike motorcycle was reported stolen from the 0 – 100 block of Sangamon Ct. on September 9
A mountain style blue bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Juniper on September 9.
Floyd C. Daniels, 34, 22928 Millard, Richton Park, was arrested on September 10 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to the 300 block of Marquette in reference to a domestic disturbance report.
Over $11,000 worth of items were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny on September 10, including a 47 inch plasma television, numerous items of clothing, a diamond Ictek watch with 4 ½ karat diamonds, a white HP laptop computer, and an X-Box 360 video game unit.
Keith A. Jones, 22, 27 E. Rocket Circle, Park Forest, was arrested on September 11, issued an M-citation and charged with obstructing a police officer when police were called to the 0 – 100 block of Liems regarding a disturbance in progress.
Shauntrell L. Jackson, 18, 16119 S. Turner Ave., Markham, Virgil L. Dyson, 18, 16217 S. Sawyer, Markham, and three juveniles also from Markham were arrested on September 11 and charged with theft when Corporal Boulden and Officer Elliot were dispatched to the 200 block of Miami St. to investigate a disturbance. A witness reported seeing the subjects in a black Cadillac 4-door stop on the roadway in the 200 block of Miami and allegedly tamper with a vehicle parked in the driveway. The witness yelled at the subjects, who allegedly fled the scene in the Cadillac, allegedly yelling, “Come on! Let’s get outta here!” and, “Go! Go! Go!” When police arrived, the owner reported that the gas cap had been taken. The suspect vehicle was located stopped at the Marathon Gas Station, 385 Sauk Trail, and the five suspects were taken into custody.
A black, BMX style Huffy bicycle was reported stolen from the 23400 block of S. Western Ave. on September 11.
A red radio flyer wagon and a pink lawn chair were reported stolen on September 11 from a patio in the 100 block of Ash St.
The green electric box in the 200 block of Allegheny Street was vandalized on September 11, spray painted with “obvious gang graffiti,” according to the police report.
A 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, IL registration #9554530, was reported stolen from in front of a residence in the 100 block of Ash Street on September 11. The owner reported leaving the driver’s side front door unlocked. Police found no evidence of broken glass.
A Pioneer radio faceplate, a Pioneer amp, Alpine amp, and Kenwood Kicker Box were reported stolen from a 1992 Chevrolet van parked in the 400 block of Lakewood on September 11. The driver’s side window was broken to gain entry. A knife was recovered from the vehicle and was being sent to the crime lab for processing for fingerprints.
Regina A. Hodges, 32, 11 Apache, Park Forest, was arrested on September 11 and charged with battery, aggravated assault, and reckless driving, when an officer on patrol in the 0 – 11 block of Apache observed the vehicle she was driving drive up into the sidewalk and onto the front lawn of a residence in an alleged apparent attempt to run a person over.
Donnell T. Lott, 33, 12416 S. Morgan St., Calumet Park, IL, was arrested on September 11 and charged with unlawful possession of registration when police noticed a white 1989 Oldsmobile Regency parked in the 100 block of Sycamore Dr. with an Illinois temporary registration plate registered to a 2007 Nissan Senra that had been entered into LEADS as stolen.
Timothy J. Richardson, 17, 175 Indianwood, Park Forest, was arrested on September 11 and charged with criminal damage to property when the front windshield of a silver 2002 Ford Focus was reported smashed inward.
A silver LG U.S. Cellular flip phone was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Family Dollar on September 8. The report was filed on September 11.
LeRoy Brantley, 31, 1515 W. 114 Pl, Chicago, was arrested on September 12 and issued two citations for open alcohol driver, failure to signal, and given an M-Citation for possession of cannabis when detectives on patrol in the area of Orchard and Nanti observed the vehicle Brantley was driving allegedly make a right turn without signaling. Detectives allegedly located an opened bottle of Silver Patron Tequila in the center console area.
William David Steins, 48, 69 Park St., Apt. #909, Park Forest, was arrested on September 12 and charged with criminal trespass to residence when police were called to the 0 – 100 block of Park St. to investigate a domestic disturbance.
On Thursday, September 13, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Ash St. in reference to a suspicious vehicle that had been parked unoccupied in a parking lot with the column “peeled”. Officers recovered a black 1987 Cadillac Coupe Deville that had been reported stolen from Country Club Hills. The vehicle was towed and C.C. Hills Police Dept. was notified.
Officers responded on September 13 to Enterprise Rental, 3270 W. Lincoln Hwy., to investigate a report of theft. Three spare tires were removed from three separate vehicles. In an odd twist, all three tires were located beneath the vehicles.
Rickie D. Foy, 25,198 Washington, Park Forest, was arrested on September 13 and charged with open alcoholic beverage on public way when Detectives Beilke and Devries observed Foy walking westbound in the street in the 100 block of Washington allegedly with an open bottle of Seagram’s Gin.
On September 13, a black CD book containing approximately 75 CDs was removed from a maroon 4-door Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight parked in the 200 block of Sycamore on September 13. An officer on patrol noticed the vehicle’s trunk lock had been removed and was lying on the ground at the rear of the vehicle. All four doors of the vehicle were also slightly ajar.
A black Hewlett Packard HP laptop computer was reported stolen from an unsecured vehicle parked in the 200 block of Wilson on September 13. The theft occurred either September 4 or 5, according to the report.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Illinois Street to investigate a domestic battery on September 14. There is a suspect in the case.
Four lug nit covers valued at $125 each were reported stolen from a 2004 GMC Envoy parked in the 100 block of Elm on September 14.
A patio brick was thrown through the rear window of a 1998 Chevrolet Venture Van parked in the 100 block of Shabbona on September 14. Police have suspect information.
