Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service agents say they discovered weapons when they executed a search warrant at a residence on Niagara last Monday. Park Forest were called upon to assist.
Police were dispatched to 424 Niagara on April 21 at approximately 12:13 p.m. to assist the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the U.S. Secret Service on a controlled buy. Officers Busse, Obremski and Corporal Boulden provided perimeter security as postal inspectors and Secret Service agents used an Enterprise leasing truck to deliver computers allegedly purchased with fraudulent checks by a resident of that address, according to police. The resident, Richard Allan Buckhoy, 35, accepted the computers, according to police. He was then taken into custody by the Secret Service. Buckhoy would not give consent for the residence to be searched. He was transported to the Park Forest Police Department and held in a holding cell pending further investigation.
Postal Inspector Mike Carrol and other agents from his office executed a search warrant at that address at 5:36 p.m., according to police. They discovered a handgun, shotgun, and handgun ammunition, according to police.
Buckhoy was arrested and charged with two Class 3 felony charges of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon.
The Secret Service is pursuing their own indictments on this matter.
