PSC’s Golf Outing to Benefit Student Scholarships

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The need for college scholarship assistance continues to grow as the economy and changing job market affect area residents. To help raise money for scholarships, the Prairie State College (PSC) Foundation is seeking area golfers to tee up “fore” scholarships at its 16th annual scholarship golf classic on Monday, June 1.

The golf outing will be held at the Idlewild County Club, located at 19201 Dixie Hwy., Flossmoor.  The day begins at 11 a.m. with a grilled lunch, and play gets underway with an 18 hole scrambles format, shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The event concludes with an awards reception, live and silent auctions, cocktails, and a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $200 per golfer, and $60 of each ticket is tax deductible; consult your tax advisor. The cost includes lunch and dinner, beverages, a gas cart, and contests along the course including a five hole “poker run.”

For non-golfers, cocktail and dinner reservations are available at $60 each, and $25 is tax deductible; consult your tax advisor.

To help raise additional funds for scholarships, sponsorship opportunities are available. All sponsors will be listed on signage and in the event program. Prize donations as well as cases of water, pop, sports drinks, and beer also are appreciated.

Space for the event is limited. For more information, contact Cathy Killian Kloss, executive director of the PSC Foundation, at (708) 709-3636. Information is also available on the PSC Web site at prairiestate.edu; click on Foundation.

“The PSC Foundation Golf Classic puts a lot of ‘fun’ into scholarship funding,” said PSC Foundation Director and Golf Chair Patrick Ormsby, president, Bimba Manufacturing Company.  “We invite all community members to join us in supporting PSC scholarships.”
