Robert A. Dinerstein Transcript

In my Tribute to Robert A. Dinerstein, I said parts of his Oral History Transcript are on the Illinois Digital Archives.  The other day, I checked to see how many parts were on, and discovered that none are, at this point. I apologize to anyone who has been trying to pull that up from IDA.   The bound version of his transcript IS available at the Park Forest Public Library.  We did have two of the transcribed tapes online until the Illinois State Library migrated the Illinois Digital Archives to ContentDM, when it was decided that was "partial"–although any of his transcripts coud stand alone.

I am hoping the historical society has the full versions on disk, and I can straighten out the problem which kept his transcript from being launched as a whole.

Twenty-six of the seventy-seven transcripts from OH! Park Forest are on the Illinois Digital Archives.  To see a list of all the transcripts and their status, go to www.parkforesthistory.org.  All but 4 of the 77 transcripts are available either bound, or in their edited form, through the adult services department of the Park Forest Public Library

If reading about Mr. Dinerstein’s contributions to Park Forest history have peaked your interest, look for the transcripts of  other Village Presidents, Bernard G. Cunningham (6 vols.), Henry X Dietch, and Mayer Singerman.   A card file in the adult services department, on top of the Park Forest file cabinets, lists narrators and the topics they discuss.
