Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Rockets’ first Scholastic Bowl tournament was held last week and they now have a 2 and 0 record. The Varsity team, led by captain Nicole Montovalo, dispatched their first opponent with a score of 106-44. The second round match against rival Rich Central was a nail biter, with Rich East scratching out a 68-67 victory.
Riddhi Kansara and Adam Halfhaker answered two toss ups correctly while Angela Crawford, Shaq Thomas, Chinmay Kansara and Katrina Halfaker also added toss up points. Ashley Peters and Jasmine Crawford also made contributions.
The varsity team is coached by Sean Coughlin. The Junior Varsity team, coached by Dr. Reba Epstein, started the season just as strongly with one win and one loss, only by a point. Aiyana Godsill, India Borjas, Jordan and Matt led the way for JV.
The next match is at Rich East on December 1.
