Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–September 23, 2013. On September 23, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced a $1,151,774 Department of Labor grant for Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. The grant is part of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Program, which promotes skills development in areas such as manufacturing, transportation and health care. Students at Harper College will develop skills suitable for jobs in supply chain management and have an opportunity to take part in internships, apprenticeships and on-the-job training.
“I am proud of Harper College’s work to develop the skills of its talented students and I know they will put this grant to good use,” said Duckworth. “Developing this country’s transportation and infrastructure is critical to our economy’s growth. To achieve this we need more talented young Americans to enter careers such as supply chain management.”
