Congresswoman Kelly Features Student Video Contest Finalists on YouTube Channel

Matteson, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 13, 2014. Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that the finalists of a student video competition she hosted during Black History Month are currently featured on her YouTube channel.

Students in kindergarten through eighthgrade were invited to submit a 90-second video answering the question: Why it is Important to Celebrate Black History Month.

“We wanted to honor the accomplishments of African Americans and at the same time demonstrate the talent and originality of future generations by showcasing their creative work on the internet,” Rep. Kelly said. “I was very impressed by all the videos that were submitted. It’s gratifying to know we have so many gifted young people in the Second Congressional District.”

The winners were Michellelin Oburo of Richton Square School in Richton Park; New Beginnings Learning Academy, Grades 3-5, in South Holland; and the STEM Academy, Grades 6-8, in Calumet City.

All participants in the contest will receive a letter from Rep. Kelly thanking them for their submissions.
