CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–December 7, 2015.  Roosevelt University introduced 19 undergraduate students in its Heller College of Business who were selected as the first Clearing Corporation Charitable Foundation (CCCF) Fellows at a luncheon on Nov. 20.

Each student is receiving a stipend, paid professional development opportunities and internship placements as a part of a $132,000 gift from CCCF.

At the luncheon Professor Tanweer Hasan, founding executive director of the CCCF Fellows Program and the Rolf Weil Professor of Finance in the Heller College, thanked the CCCF for its generous gift and said, “The program ultimately will lead to job placements for our students with financial organizations.”

So far, finance professionals from BMO Harris Bank, KPMG, PNC Bank and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois have signed on to be mentors to students.  In addition to having a mentor, the fellows will learn how to operate Bloomberg Terminals and will receive relevant certificates (BMC) and acknowledgment of completion (BESS).

In his remarks, David Johnson, a trustee of the CCCP Foundation, encouraged the fellows to work hard while in school and throughout their professional careers.  He described the history of the foundation, which goes back to 1925 and the Board of Trade in Chicago.

The Roosevelt program “fits the goals and vision of the foundation,” he said.   “All of you deserve this recognition.”
