Marian Awards 60 Letters for Academic Perfection

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Marian Catholic High School awarded 60 Academic Letters to sophomores, juniors and seniors at the annual Academic Letter Breakfast on Oct. 28. The Academic Letter is awarded to a student who receives 4.0 or higher grade-point average in two consecutive semesters. Parents, grandparents and siblings attend the event and watch as each student is recognized by Sister  Kathleen Anne Tait, O.P., Principal, Dr. Shirley Morris, Vice Principal of Academics, and Mr. John Kozojed, Vice Principal of Student Activities. Sister Judine Hilbing, O.P., President, gave the opening prayer.

Recipients included Matthew Anderson, Olivia Beck, Claire Bessette, Edith Boiquaye, Alana Carr, Miranda Christopher-Nwakah, Chelsea Davis, Paul deBustros, Katlynn Dee, Christine DiLuia, Kelly Foley, Elizabeth Frabotta, Louis Funk, Anthony Gallullo, Daniel Gwizdalski, Myeisha Hansbrough, Nicole Herrera, Jenna Hoffmann, Judith Howard, Ryan Hutchison.

Also, Michael Irwin, Kareem Johnson, Jessica Jones, Taylor Jones, Marisol Juarez, Steven Kekeis, Jason Kint, Duncan Kryszyn, Kelly Lane, Hannah Lang, Timothy LaVelle, Fauve Liggans-Hubbard, Michelle Longo, Christine Lydon, Miranda Melone, Christopher Merriman, Michael Milkovic, Patrick Nagle II, Airiel Nelson, Elizabeth O’Malley.

In addition, Ryan Paige, Nicole Panozzo, Matthew Pena, Kelly Piacenti, Olivia Piekoszewski, Katherine Reichart, Cesare Ruggeri, Karie Schaberger, Jill Sobie, James Spain, Emily Stibich, Hayley Stuber, Emma Terrazas, Chinenye Ukpaby, Bree Veazey, Maureen Volkman, Tyler Walton, Matthew Wilk, Deana Williams and Nora Zerante.

Presented each fall, the six-inch "M" Letters have been awarded to more than 1,000 students since the program began in 1994. In addition to their academic endeavors, these “Scholars with a Soul” are also active in athletics, fine arts, clubs, and service projects.
