Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- There were close to 800 students. The school promised a half day if only 500 students showed up, half the school’s enrollment. Tracy Butler was “in the house.” And there were pancakes for every student. ABC7’s Friday Flyover is an event the Marian Catholic will likely remember for some time to come.

And now there’s a trophy to defend.

The school learned early Friday morning that the efforts of band members, students, staff, and faculty early on the morning of September 28 paid off. Marian Catholic High School won for the best of ABC7’s Friday Flyover.

Senior Cameron Palanca told eNews Park Forest, “I feel blessed!” after learning the of the news.

This was the broadcast from the school this morning:

“For nearly two months, before the weekend’s big high school football matchups, ABC7 broadcast live from a local high school along with Chopper 7 HD,” ABC7 Chicago said on their website.

“Thanks to all who voted! The vote is now closed. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Marian Catholic High School!” the announcement said.

This faculty member showed up around 5:30 a.m. The football field was already packed and ABC7 was broadcasting. The Chopper 7 showed up later.
