Marian Catholic Speech Team Third at H-F Tournament


The Marian Speech team captured third place at the Homewood-Flossmoor Tournament last weekend. Some members include: Katie Reichart (Lansing), Jonathan Williamsen (Steger), Sean O Sullivan (Munster), Brittany Spanos (Sauk Village), Ashley Smith (Olympia Fields) and Colleen Daw (Homewood).

Four individual champions highlight season opener

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Sparked by four individual first-place finishes, the Marian Catholic High School Speech Team recently captured third place at the Homewood-Flossmoor Novice Speech Tournament.

Marian was led by individual titles from Bernadette Senick and Megan McDonnell (Humorous Duet Acting), Courtneigh Summerrise and Molly Dettmann (Dramatic Duet Acting), Kieran Dziallo (Special Occasion Speaking) and Michelle Caperelli (Poetry Reading). Senick added a second place in Prose Reading, while Summerrise was second in Impromptu Speaking. Marian also got second-place finishes from Ken Pilota (Radio Speaking) and Kyle Fitzgerald (Oratorical Declamation).

Jasmine Sawyer captured a third place in Humorous Interpretation and Nick Moorman was third in Original Oratory. Other Marian winners included Hannah Lang (fourth, Humorous Interpretation), Katie Reichart (fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking and Oratorical Declamation), Mary Skurka (fifth, Informative Speaking), Pia Lyander (fifth, Radio Speaking) and Moorman (sixth, Extemporaneous Speaking).
