Malcolm Dalglish to perform with Girls Glee Ensemble

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Marian Catholic choir department presents its first concert of the 2010-2011 school year on Thursday, Oct. 14, with music of various styles, genres and languages. The Madrigal Singers will perform in full Renaissance costume and showcase some of the songs from their upcoming Madrigal dinners slated for December. Concert Choir will present a song in Korean, and Spartan Choir will be singing in German. 

The highlight of the concert will be composer Malcolm Dalglish performing his piece, "Reel a’ Bouche" on the hammer dulcimer with the members of the Girls Glee ensemble. Dalglish is a choral composer and director, hammer dulcimer, spoons, bones, and chin music virtuoso who presents programs of original folk choir and dulcimer music. The concert takes place at 7:00 p.m. in the Monsignor Croarkin Auditorium on campus. The performance is free and open to the public.
