Jackson captures individual title in Original Comedy

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Paced by a first-place finish from Kiayla Jackson (Sauk Village) in Original Comedy, the Marian Catholic High School Speech team captured a third place finish last weekend in the Thornton Turkey Tourney.

Marian was led by several strong performances, including a second place from Jaboukie Young-White (Harvey) in Original Oratory and fourth-place finishes from Adam King (Lansing) and Al Gallinaro (Monee) in Dramatic Duet Acting, Colleen Daw (Homewood) in Special Occasion Speaking, and Jackson in Poetry Reading.

Adam King and Zach Henry (Lansing) added a fifth place in Humorous Duet Acting, while Marian got sixth-place points from Johnathan Williamsen (Steger) in Dramatic Interpretation and Michael Irwin (Tinley Park) in Special Occasion Speaking. Other Marian entries to reach the finals included Gallinaro and Sam Kirschenheiter (Flossmoor) in Humorous Duet Acting, Molly Anne Nunn (Crete) in Humorous Interpretation, and Summer Fields (Richton Park) in Oratorical Declamation.
