Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)- eNews Park Forest continues with our series of stellar students from Rich East High School. Mr. Kevin Kredens, the school’s publicity liaison, provides each student a series of the same questions. All responses are in the students’ exact words, except for minor editing for content and space when needed.
We are pleased to feature Jessica Adney, a life-long resident of Park Forest. She currently ranks 6th in her class, is a member of the National Honor Society, and, out of all of her classes, enjoys AP Physics most.
Meet Jessica Adney:
Are you a Park Forest Resident? How long? Yes, 17 years (My whole life).
At Rich East all four years? Yes. I have been at Rich East all four years.
What do you like most about Rich East? Some of the teachers (well, every teacher I have had and gym (before they got rid of dodgeball).
Activities/Athletics/Clubs participated in? Special awards? Softball (freshman and sophomore year), Key Club (junior year), National Honor Society (sophomore, junior and senior year).
GPA/Class Rank. My Grade Point Average is 3.826. My Class rank: 6th out of 214.
Favorite classes and why. My favorite class is AP Physics. It is a lot of fun with the people in there. I love Physics J and gym (physical education) because it’s a time to get all of my energy out and have fun. A nice tension breaker,
Favorite teachers and why. My favorite teachers are: Mr. (Mark) Amamczyk. He’s really funny and makes class fun, easy and enjoyable; Mr. (Mike) Blomarz. He’s always making corny jokes that makes us all laugh; Ms. (Lenore) Rendina. She is very east to talk to; Ms. (Sarah) Porod, her class is really fun and she is always happy to see us. It is great how little things amuse her, just like me! J ; and Ms. (Noreen) Wessendorf because she very easy to talk to and she’s very nice and understanding.
ACT: I received a 25 on the ACT.
Areas met or exceeded on PSAE (Prairie State Achievement Exam): I met and exceeded in Math and Reading.
AP Exams/Scores: I will take the AP Physics and AP Statistics exams when the time comes.
College choice? Major? I plan on attending Prairie State College and will major in Nursing.
What are you listening to on your iPod these days? I am listening to Blink-182, Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons, Greenday, My Chemical Romance, and so much more! J
What is the last book you have read? The last book I read was “The Stand,” by Stephen King.
Favorite TV Shows? My favorite TV shows are: “Regular Show,” “Adventure Time,” “Shameless,” and “Supernatural.”
Coffee or Tea, hot or cold? Hot coffee with hot cocoa mix, sugar and milk in it.
Junk Foods? Pizza, Mickey D’s, Taco Bell? Other? As for junk foods, mostly candy; whatever my mom makes for dinner for healthy foods; and Chicago Dough Pizza is my Number One favorite place.
Places that you’d most like to visit? I want to visit everywhere; I want to travel the world. J
Clubs, hobbies? I do not really do anything with church or volunteering so much now, but I do play a lot of video games in my free time.
Where do you want to be in five years? In ten years? I don’t really have any big plays for my future; I just go along with life as it happens. I do hope to have a loving family and a big house close to where I grew up so I can always come back and visit.
