Picasso and His World in Spotlight at Governors State University Lecture

University Park, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Governors State University will present “Picasso and His World: Challenging Structures and Changing Paradigms” on Wednesday, April 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m,. in the university’s Hall of Honors. The program, part of the ongoing University Honors Community Lecture Series at GSU, is free and open to the public.

Anne Morse will present “Picasso and His World.” Morse is Senior Lecturer in Museum Education and liaison to the academic community for the Art Institute of Chicago. She coordinates the annual Graduate Student Seminar and a Chicago-based artist lecture series, Artists Connect. She is also an independent curator who has worked with the Contemporary Arts Council, Columbia College Chicago, and the Hyde Park Art Center.

During her presentation, Morse will explore the current “Picasso and Chicago” exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, with special reference to the changing conditions, both personal and social, in which Picasso created his art. She will show rarely-seen examples of Picasso’s work.
