Prairie State College to Offer Course in ‘Best Management Practices for Community Trees’


CHICAGO HEIGHTS—(ENEWSPF)—February 14, 2015. Prairie State College (PSC) is offering a new course this semester through our corporate and continuing education department titled ‘Best Management Practices for Community Trees.’ This interactive, eight-hour course will be held on March 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. OR March 17 and 18 from 6 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. and held in Room 108 of the Matteson Area Center, 4821 Southwick Drive, Matteson.

Participants will gain an understanding in selecting, placing, conserving, protecting, maintaining, establishing, renovating and replacing trees. Technically correct and widely accepted best management practices and standards used by professionals in the field will be provided to enable participants to gain new information and enhance current skills. The course is recommended for professional arborists, urban and community foresters, landscape architects and other tree care and landscape professionals.
