CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–October 10, 2013. Prairie State College (PSC) Board of Trustees member Wendell Mosby recently was named second vice president of the African American Community College Trustee Association (AACCTA). He was nominated and voted into the office during the 2013 AACCTA annual meeting in Seattle, Wash. He also was appointed chair of the Public Policy Committee.
AACCTA is an authorized affiliate of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), and provides effective leadership training, assists members in taking active roles in ACCT leadership positions, promotes the interests of its members to ACCT, protects the interests of African American college presidents and students, and enhances networking opportunities and unity among its members. Members support community colleges in recruiting, supporting, retaining, and graduating minority students, as well as recruitment of minority administrators and faculty.
“We appreciate Trustee Mosby’s outreach efforts on behalf of minority students, faculty, and staff from community colleges across the country,” added Jacqueline Agee, chair of the PSC Board of Trustees.
Mosby has been a member of the PSC Board of Trustees since 2011. He is the PSC alternate representative for ACCT and the PSC representative, executive committee member, and chair of the public relations committee for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association.
He is a graduate of Rich Central High School and Iowa State University.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers as possessing the leadership and skills to work on a national level,” he said.
