Prairie State College (PSC) will welcome Holocaust survivor and international speaker Marion Blumenthal Lazan to share her poignant story. Her presentation will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 3:30 p.m., in the Proven IT Room (1318/20) in the Conference Center on the college’s main campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. The event is free and open to the public.

Lazan’s story is documented in her memoir, “Four Perfect Pebbles,” which is co-authored with Lila Pearl. Lazan travels around the world, telling the story of her family’s survival during Hitler’s rise to power, when they were forced to live in refugee, and moved to prison camps, before eventually being rescued by Russian troops at the end of World War II.

PSC President Dr. Terri L. Winfree said, “We are honored to have such a well-respected and courageous speaker on campus to tell her story to the members of the PSC community. The realities of the Holocaust are such an important part of our world’s history, and the message needs to be shared with future generations, so we never forget.”

The event is being sponsored by the PSC Foundation.
