PSC Offers Info Session for Prospective Adult Students


Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Prairie State College (PSC) will host a free info session for adults to answer questions and help ease the transition to college life. The event, New Directions, will be held on Monday, January 11, at 6 p.m., in the Business and Community Education Center, located on the college’s main campus, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.

This workshop is for those who are thinking about starting college but aren’t sure how to begin. Those who have already registered for classes and are looking for additional information are also welcome. The session includes an overview of academic programs and services as well as information on financial aid, admissions, student life, and how to register for classes.

“We offer students a supportive environment that fosters success,” said Diane Janowiak, coordinator of New Directions. “Adults will find that Prairie State College offers flexible scheduling options and faculty who are dedicated to teaching.”

Classes for the spring 2010 semester begin January 19. New and current students can register in person until classes begin. New students must register in person by visiting the Counseling and Academic Advising Center, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours are through December 18. Campus registration resumes January 4. Current students also can register online at prairiestate.edu.

For those who can’t start in January, PSC offers dozens of Late Start classes beginning February 12.
