Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Rich East High School Speech Team had some great success at last weekend’s Yorkville Invitational.
Jordyn Hayes placed fourth in "Informative Speaking," and Melissa Kinnie placed fifth in "Oratorical Declamation," and Fatimah McMiller also earned a fifth-place ribbon in "Prose Reading."
"After a frustrating season of ‘rebuilding’ our team, the Rockets represented Rich East in a major way at Yorkville’s invitational," said Rocket speech coach Marisa Ptak. "They all deserve much congratulations."
Among the other Rocket orators: Josh Goldfarb, Lurenzo Carr, and Derrick Flemming all performed admirably as well, being just about 10 points away from placing in Impromptu Speaking and Original Oratory, respectively, Ptak said.
