Rocket PTSO and Booster Club Combines Forces

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Rich East High School Parent Teacher Student Organization has combined forces with the Rocket Booster Club in the hopes of increasing awareness of both organizations. The new organization, titled The Rocket Booster Club, was formed over the summer.

“It’s going to be an exciting time for Rich East High School to really get everyone involved in sports and activities at their school,” said Kristin Kirui President, The Rockets Booster Club.

The PTSO has in the past, donated as much as $7,000 per year in scholarships to Rich East students. The students use that scholarship to help defray the ever-increasing costs of higher education. Last year, the PTSO donated more than $3,000 in scholarship money which was an excellent amount especially in these difficult economic times.

The Rocket Booster Club has helped athletic programs get much-needed equipment for the 17 Rockets athletic teams. The organization now has more than 200 members, the most it has ever had. Dozens of those members assisted in providing a BBQ dinner to more than 400 parents who turned out for the open house.

“It turned out to be a very successful event and kicked off a great start to the school year,” said Rich East Principal Mark Kramer.
