SoccerwinCHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–November 17, 2015.  The 19th-ranked Roosevelt men’s soccer team will begin the 2015 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship in an opening round match against 16th-ranked and 10th-seeded MidAmerican Nazarene (Kan.) on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Olathe, Kansas.

The match between the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Lakers (16-3-2) and the Heart of America Conference’s Pioneers (14-5-1) will take place at Pioneer Field in Olathe, approximately 30 minutes from Kansas City, at a time to be determined.

The winner advances to the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship second round against the winner of the opening round match between seventh-seeded and 15th-ranked Vanguard (Calif.) (15-4-0) and Great Falls (Mont.) (13-5-1) on Dec. 1 at the Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray Beach, Fla.

Saturday’s match is the first meeting between the Lakers and the Pioneers. It will mark Roosevelt’s first NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship match in school history.

The Lakers enter the contest having won 11 matches in a row, with a 16-match unbeaten streak (15-0-1) since Sept. 12.

Roosevelt won the 2015 CCAC regular season and tournament championships, the first titles in program history. Head coach Graham Brennan has taken the Lakers from a two-win debut in 2012 to national title contender this fall.

MidAmerican Nazarene finished as the Heart of America Conference’s third seed before bowing out to third-ranked Missouri Valley in the conference semifinals.
