Sauk Village Emergency Services and Prairie State College Team Up for Disaster Relief


Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Sauk Village Emergency Services have teamed up with Prairie State College (PSC) to send relief donations to the residents of Harrisburg, IL. Harrisburg was struck by an F4 tornado on February 29, leaving hundreds of people homeless.

Relief supplies needed are cleaning supplies, toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, toilet paper, etc), diapers, towels, washcloths, blankets, sheets, rakes, car seats, winter gloves, work gloves, socks, and underwear. Please do not donate general clothing, food, or water. Donations can be dropped off at PSC’s Transportation, Warehouse, and Logistics Training Center at 191 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. Donations also will be accepted at the Sauk Village Fire Department at 1804 222 St.

Monetary donations can be made by check and mailed to Harrisburg Ministerial Association at 20 S. Webster St., Harrisburg, IL 62946. Please write “disaster aid” in the memo line of your check.

The deadline to donate is Tuesday, March 20 at 5 p.m. The donations will be delivered by Dave Wilkinson, PSC’s coordinator of the truck driving program. A PSC truck from the truck driving program will be used to deliver the supplies.
