Seuss is on the Loose at Governors State University (Video)

University Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)–April 25, 2016 – The GSU Center for Performing Arts announces the upcoming performance of Seussical.  This upbeat, whimsical musical production comes direct from New York and will be held on May 1, 2016 at 2 p.m.

Seussical started as a Broadway musical centered on The Cat in the Hat. Now, adapted and produced by Theatreworks, the community can view this original Broadway production for a fraction of the price.

Seussical is one of many productions put on each year by the Center for Performing Arts, and this performance will be one that is great for both adults and children. Based on The Cat in the Hat, Seussical adds a unique twist to the already popular children’s books. Incorporating Broadway-like song and dance, The Cat in the Hat acts as Emcee while creating even more mischief. This production allows the audience to view part of their childhood on stage, while they reminisce on how the famous Dr. Seuss has impacted their life.

Come out and enjoy some of Dr. Seuss’ classical books come to life in this contemporary stage play that spotlights works like The Cat in the Hat, The Who’s, and Horton Hears a Who. Since its creation, Seussical has been a hit with children of all ages across America and has been entertaining families for more than sixteen years.
