State Reps. To Hold Budget Hearing Tuesday

To The Editor:

Recently, the governor unveiled his budget proposal to the Illinois General Assembly and although many details are still missing, it is quite clear that this budget will impact our region of the state. In the face of a $750 million deficit for the current year and difficult economic conditions predicted over the next year, now is the time for fiscal responsibility.

In order to improve transparency in the budget process and get more information to the public and elected officials, we will be hosting a hearing on the state budget in South Holland on Tuesday, March 25th. The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at South Suburban College Kindig Performing Arts Center Auditorium, located at 15800 South State Street in South Holland.

Everyone in the south suburbs will be affected by the budget that is eventually adopted and we encourage all interested parties to attend the hearing to give their input. For more information, please contact Rep. Davis’ constituent service office at (708) 799-7300, Rep. Miller’s constituent service office at (708) 201-8000, Rep. Riley’s constituent service office at (708) 283-0400, or Rep. Scully’s constituent service office at (708) 672-0200. Thank you, in advance, for your interest. We look forward to seeing you on March 25.
