Step Back Into a 1950s Christmas

Step Back into a 1950s Christmas this December at the 1950s Park Forest House Museum.  The Society has "Decked the Halls" and invites you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the 21st Century and spend some time getting a good dose of Holiday Nostalgia.  Remember Gurley Candles and Rosbro plastic figurines?  We have an aluminum tree up again this year decorated with period ornaments and lighted with a color wheel.  The stockings are all hung with care.  The toys and gifts are under the tree.  Period wrapping paper and cards are there.  Dolls, toys, and games, and even Howdy Doody are there to bring back memories or to share with other family members and friends.  The cookie cutters are waiting on the red enamel table by the wooden rolling pin for Mom to help bake holiday memories. The museum is open Saturdays from 1-3 p.m.  Call Jane Nicoll, Museum Director, at 708-481-4252 to confirm opening on December 27, or in case of extreme bad weather.  A donation of $5 is asked of adults; children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.  Join us!
