Support our Troops Bravo-Co. 11-122nd

Crestwood, IL—(ENEWSPF)—  Commissioner Joan Murphy’s office issued the following statement this week:

The Illinois Army National Guard, Battery B. Second Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery soldiers have been deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. These proud soldiers and their families live in Cook County and surrounding areas.

Cook County Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy was present at the Deployment Ceremony at the Crestwood Armory. She expressed her “well wishes and her continued support of the brave men and women serving our country.” Bravo-Co. 11-122nd soldier’s deployment is scheduled for one year overseas tour of duty.

Commissioner Murphy has committed an ongoing effort to support and meet the needs of our troops and their families until they return home. Commissioner Murphy will be hosting a year long community collection drive for the soldiers. Items will be sent and forwarded to the soldiers on a routine basis and will be continued throughout their deployment. In addition, we are encouraging schools, community organizations and faith based members to maintain correspondence with the soldiers via letters and cards or host a collection drive.

There will be a collection bin at Commissioner Joan P. Murphy’s District Office in Crestwood. Please donate: baby wipes, sun block, white cotton socks, toiletries, hard candy, non-perishable snack food, zip lock bags, powdered drink mixes, breakfast bars, holiday items, small games, writing material, magazines, etc. Please drop off all items and letters to:
