Suspicious Auto Call on Ash Street Leads to Arrest

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Police responded to court A-11 on Ash Street at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, to investigate a report of a suspicious auto. Officer Hoskins responded, along with Officers Sweitzer, Houcek, and Decault. Police observed a silver Cadillac CTS in the court, which matched the description of the reported vehicle. According to police, the driver of the vehicle attempted to drive out of the court, but Officer Hoskins initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, Jerry H. Wright, 58, 1324 Meyer Ct., Homewood, told police he was visiting a friend who lived on Allegheny St., but did not produce a license, according to police. Officer Hoskins checked Wright’s name through LEADS, and discovered Wright had a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant out of Chicago Heights. Wright was taken into custody. The vehicle was seized.

Wright was searched and police found a clear-glass pipe inside his right sock, which police suspected to be used as a crack cocaine ingesting implement. Wright was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
