Two Struck by Gunfire on Indiana Street

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Indiana Street on May 12 shortly after 7 p.m. to investigate a report of shots fired with two victims struck by gunfire. Several officers responded to the scene.

According to police, one of the alleged victims related that she was standing in the driveway of a house on Indiana Street talking to her sister. She said she heard a loud “pop” and then felt pain coming from her upper left thigh. She then heard a lot of commotion from a house across the street, and related that a black male, approximately 28 years old, wearing a royal blue T-shirt, came out of the residence and asked, “Did anyone get hit?” She told the subject that she had been shot, and related that a second male black subject, approximately 25 years old, wearing a white T-shirt, exited the residence. The second subject was bleeding and walked into the street.

The witness told the subjects that she had called police, at which point both subjects ran south down Indiana Street.

Police took statements from several individuals, gathered evidence from the scene, and turned the case over to the Detective’s Division for investigation.
