Woman Startles Burglars Rummaging Her Home


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– A Park Forest woman startled two burglars in the midst of ransacking her home last week.

The resident told police that when she returned to her home in the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive, she discovered that her front door was partially open. She attempted to push the door open and an unknown subject pushed the door shut from the other side. She reported hearing someone inside the residence yell, "Let’s go!" She pushed the door open again and saw two subjects standing inside her residence. One was holding a brown pillowcase in his hand and the other was holding a blue pillowcase.

The first suspect dropped the brown pillowcase in the living room and ran past the resident out the door. The second suspect ran past the resident, still carrying the blue pillowcase.

Items reported missing include a gold and silver bracelet valued at $100, a pair of gold earrings valued at $80 and two gold rings valued at $100.

The first suspect is described as a black male subject in his late 30s or early 40s, between 5’7" and 5’10" tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds. He had a small amount of facial hair with gray hair in his beard. He was reportedly wearing a dark brown baseball cap, dark blue or black jacket and dark colored pants.

The second suspect is described as a male black subject in his late 30s or early 40s, between 6 foot and 6’3" tall, weighing between 215 and 230 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, dark blue jacket, and dark pants.

Police gathered evidence from the scene and continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call 708-748-1309 and leave a message on Detective Beilke’s voice mail.
