Burglary Report: Power Tools Stolen From House Undergoing Rehab

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Our next installment of separate coverage of burglaries in Park Forest.

Please keep in mind “‘Tis the Season” for home burglaries. Packages delivered to porches, homes with new merchandise visible through windows, these are targets during the holiday season, especially as Christmas and Hanukkah approach. Please make every effort to secure your home when you’re not there, and crush boxes for recycling after opening new items.

Power Tools Stolen

Police were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Monee Road on November 14 to investigate a burglary that was just discovered.

An officer spoke with a resident who was in the process of renovating a home. The resident discovered that someone damaged two rear windows and stole tools from inside the residence.

Police discovered a muddy shoe print on the window sill.

Items reported stolen from the residence include a miter saw worth $199.00, a circular saw worth $115.00, a reciprocating saw worth $99.00, a cordless drill worth $100.00, battery chargers worth $35.00, miscellaneous hand tools worth $200.00, plumbing supplies worth $10.00, and a lawn mower worth $159.00.

There was no further description in the report of the items reported stolen.

Police collected evidence from the scene. Detectives are investigating.

Home Undergoing Rehab Burglarized

An officer was dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Mantua Street on November 15 regarding a report of burglary.

Someone working at the house reported that the house has been undergoing rehabbing. In spite of there being no signs of forced entry, police indicate that some pipes had been taken from the laundry room somewhere between November 13 and 14. On November 15, workers discovered that drywall had been removed from the laundry room, and more pipes were missing.

Additionally, a futon was reported missing from the second floor, and several items were missing from the detached garage. These missing items all belonged to the previous renters, according to police.
