Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A falling bullet, possibly fired on July 4, fell on a patio table at a residence in the 400 block of Rutledge Street, shattering the glass surface.

“A report of damaged property on July 5, 2017, resulted in the discovery that a fired bullet, presumably from celebratory gun fire on the 4th of July, damaged an outdoor patio table when it fell on the 400 block of Rutledge Street,” police said in a statement.

“Rounds fired into the air can travel great distances and can have deadly consequences when they fall back down,” police said.

“Responsible gun owners know this and don’t recklessly discharge firearms. If you choose to own a firearm, be one of the many responsible gun owners who show care and discipline with their firearms,” police said.
