Juvenile Allegedly Breaks Into Home On Indiana Street

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A man living on the 100 block of Indiana Street was awakened early in the morning on May 26 when he heard his dogs barking. The man went into his living room and saw a male subject, African American, approximately 14-years-old, 5’4" with a heavy build wearing a gray hoodie and gray pants, laying on the floor next to a large table. The juvenile suspect then allegedly retrieved a pair of scissors from an unknown location and allegedly pushed them at the resident, trying to get him to move back. The resident pushed the suspect’s hand away, knocking the scissors to the ground. The suspect then allegedly took a small brown screwdriver out of his pocket and began to stab at the resident’s hands.

The resident told police he allowed the suspect to use the phone to make a call.

The resident was then able to get the attention of a neighbor. While the neighbor and the resident were talking to the suspect, the suspect broke away and ran south toward Illinois Street and then West on Illinois Street towards Gettysburg Street.

The resident had minor scrapes on his left hand from the screwdriver but declined medical attention, according to police. The resident said that nothing appeared to be missing.
