Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Dana Hayes, the Park Forest mother who was reported missing on Monday, January 25, 2010, has still not been located, according to police.

Park Forest Detectives, assisted by members of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, served a search warrant on her ex-boyfriend’s home and vehicle in Dolton. The detectives recovered a loaded .380 handgun and other evidence.

The ex-boyfriend, Terrence Coulter, 35, was charged last Wednesday, February 3, on a felony charge of possession of a firearm without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card. He was also charged with a misdemeanor violation of an order of protection when he allegedly failed to surrender the weapon when he was arrested in the November 2007 Riverdale stabbing incident, according to police. Coulter’s trial on charges of battery and attempted murder is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

According to police, Officer Greer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on January 26, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. to investigate a report of a missing adult.

Greer spoke with the son of Dana Hayes and another man, who reported that his mother had dropped him off at school on January 25, and was supposed to go to the Richton Park Metra lot and take a train to go to work in Chicago. He reported that he had not heard from his mother since.

On January 26, Hayes’ son reported that he received a call from his mother’s supervisor asking why she did not show up for work. According to the supervisor, she did call on January 25 around noon stating that she would not be coming in to work because she had to take care of something. She did not call off work for January 26, according to police.

The man related that she may have tried to go back with her ex-boyfriend, Terrance C. Coulter, 32, who resides in Dolton. Terrance had allegedly stabbed Ms. Hayes 21 times while they were in Riverdale. The case is still pending, according to police.

Dana Hayes is described as a black female, five feet two inches tall, weighing 135 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black jacket with gray fur on the hood, black slacks, and black boots with fur on top, according to police.

The detectives also obtained a search warrant from the Cook County court in Markham for a sample of Coulter’s DNA. He was questioned but refused to make any statement regarding the disappearance of Ms. Hayes. He was transported to the Cook County court in Markham for a bond hearing.

The Park Forest Police Department is asking that anyone who might have information on Ms. Hayes to contact Detective Brian Rzyski at 708 748-1309, or Deputy Chief Mike McNamara at 708 748-8390.
