Officer Stops Fight on Arcadia


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Park Forest police continue to investigate an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Arcadia Street on December 18 at approximately 10:13 p.m.

According to police, Detective Lara was on patrol in an unmarked vehicle in the 200 block of Arcadia Street when she observed two subjects fighting in the middle of the street and another subject breaking the windows of a vehicle with a bat. Detective Lara notified SouthCom dispatch of the situation and approached the subjects. Other police units quickly arrived on the scene, according to police.

According to several witness statements, a number of people were inside a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street drinking alcohol when two of them allegedly began to argue. The two who were arguing were told to go outside to talk, followed by two others. At some point, one of the subjects allegedly removed a silver bat from the trunk of his car and stood in the street. While others looked like they were about to fight, the subject standing in the street allegedly struck another subject in the face with the bat, according to police. The fighting continued until police showed up.

Police continue to investigate the situation.
