Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Forest has a flasher, and you need to tell your kids.
According to police, today, this morning, as of this writing, on Monday, September 10, 2018, shortly before 7 a.m., an adult woman reported that a man who had been parked on Early Street followed behind her on foot to her home on the 200 block of Illinois Street. He continued to follow her as she entered her home. The man then allegedly exposed his genitals to her and fled eastbound toward Western Avenue. The woman indicated that no conversation occurred, according to police. The 200 block of Illinois Street is between Indiana Street and Early Street in East Lincolnwood. North of Early Street is Illinois Park and Illinois School. “The man was described as a black male possibly in his early 30s, medium build, approximately 5’10”, with a light complexion and a thick, untrimmed beard,” police said in a statement. “The man was described as wearing a black hoody and black sweatpants. His vehicle was described as a black, older model 4-door car.” Police said that while this incident appeared to be isolated, the PFPD notified local schools “out of an abundance of caution.” A community alert is being issued to residents, especially those living in the East and West Lincolnwood neighborhoods. “We would continue to urge our residents to call 911 anytime they see something suspicious, and it is always a good time to have conversations with your children and loved ones regarding personal safety,” police said in the statement. Police offered the following tips for adults and children:
  • avoiding being distracted by cell phones while in public;
  • walk in pairs or groups when possible;
  • be aware of one’s surroundings;
  • be prepared to call police if the need arises.
