Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A resident told police on March 23 that someone had put an unknown white substance on the front windshield and hood of her car. The resident was unable to remove the substance using several different cleaning supplies. The vehicle was parked in the 100 block of Hemlock Street and police are investigating.
Jonathan Green, 23, 414 W. Lincoln Hwy., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 23 and charged with violation of an order of protection and trespassing when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Indiana Street regarding a report of an individual yelling in the backyard of a residence.
Demontae A. Pate, 21, 1039 N. Warren St., Gary, IN, was arrested on March 23 and charged with one count of obstructing identification and processed on a Cook County Sheriff’s Department warrant charging unlawful use of a weapon and a warrant out of Crown Point, Indiana charging fugitive from justice when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Niagara Street to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle.
David L. Ossowski Jr., 49, 3803 Victoria Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on March 24 and charged with violation of an order of protection when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Victory Drive in attempts to investigate a subject who was wanted on an in-state warrant through the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, according to police. According to police, Ossowski was at the Sapphire Lounge and was allegedly speaking with several patrons at the lounge about wearing an ankle monitor earlier in the evening, according to police.

Police were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of Victory Drive on April 2 in reference to a report of credit card fraud. A business owner reported that he recently received chargebacks in the mail dealing with transactions that took place in late February and early March 2016. The charges were in excess of $2500.
Robert J. Walker, 43, 3524 Williams St., Steger, was arrested on April 7 and charged with one count of misdemeanor aggravated assault when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Rich Road to investigate a report of a disturbance.
A black 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, Illinois license plate Z384159, was reported stolen from the 2700 block of Western Avenue on April 8. According to police, the owner of the vehicle loaned the car to a friend on March 30 and the friend never returned it. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
Burnette M. Hughes, 22, 401 W. 35th St., Steger, was arrested on April 8 and issued three traffic citations and issued a local ordinance citation charging possession of cannabis when a vehicle driven by Hughes passed an officer who was traveling eastbound on Sauk Trail at 35 mph. The vehicle Hughes was driving passed the officer “at a high rate of speed” as it approached Western Avenue, according to police.
A package delivered to a residence in the 300 block of Gentry Street was reported stolen on April 9.
An Xbox 360 game system valued at approximately $150 was reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 300 block of Somonauk Street on April 10. A couple returned home and called police when they saw that their kitchen window had the screen removed and the window was open.
A 20 foot aluminum extension ladder was reported stolen from the roof of a van parked in the 300 block of Waldmann Drive on April 11.
A resident told police that while outside her house in the 200 block of Blackhawk Drive on April 12. at approximately 11:40 PM. she was approached by two men who appeared to be between 18 and 20 years of age. As the subjects approached her, one of them, wearing black pants and a dark blue hoodie, pointed a gun at her and demanded that she give him everything that she had. The woman described the gun as a black and silver revolver. The other subject was wearing a red hoodie. Both had the hoods up and. The two allegedly stole a purse and headphones from the woman.
Joshua G. Hereford, 29, 4222 Lindenwood Dr., Matteson, was arrested on April 12 and charged with one count of obstructing identification and issued traffic citations charging one headlight, improper lane usage, expired driver’s license, and illegal transportation of alcohol after an officer observed that the vehicle Hereford was driving eastbound on Sauk Trail had only one working headlight, according to police. The officer curbed the vehicle on Oakwood Street at Sauk Trail, according to police.
Three television sets were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 200 block of Grant Street on April 12. A basement door of the residence had been forced open, according to police.
