Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Jonathan M. Williams, 26, 849 Purdue Lane, Matteson, was arrested on August 6 and charged with obstructing identification and possession of a controlled substance when police were dispatched to Walgreens, 15 S. Orchard Drive, to investigate and allegedly fraudulent prescription that was called into the pharmacy. Williams was also processed on an active warrant out of Cook County. Police pulled over a vehicle in which Williams was a passenger just after the vehicle left the drive through lane at the pharmacy. The driver of the vehicle, Dominique S. Savage, 25, 302 Miami St., Park Forest, was also arrested and charged with possession of cannabis. The vehicle they were traveling in was impounded per village ordinance.
A “Buffalo box” at a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street was reported vandalized on August 6. The box is used by the village to turn off water due to unpaid bills. Police believe someone at the residence was trying to turn the water back on and damaged the device.
Police say a female teenager was accosted by three males who attempted to kiss her and commit other acts of battery. The incident occurred on August 6 near the intersection of Blackhawk Drive and Suwanee Street.
A resident told police on August 6 that unauthorized deposits and withdrawals had been made on her son’s bank account without permission. The matter is being handled by the Dolton Police Department.
Taketia D. Johnson, 38, 321 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 7 and issued citations charging expired registration and no insurance when an officer on patrol in the area of Winnebago Street and Wildwood Drive observed that the vehicle Johnson was driving had expired registration, according to police.
A window of a residence in the 400 block of Talala Street was reported shattered on August 7.
A juvenile was arrested and processed on a charge of attempted robbery when police were dispatched to the 500 block of Dogwood Street to investigate a report of a disturbance.
An officer responded to the Park Forest Police Department on August 8 in reference to a custody dispute. Police resolved the matter because the couple had no legal documentation regarding child custody, so custodial rights belonged to the maternal parent, according to police. All parties wished the incident documented for future court proceedings, according to police.
A juvenile was arrested on August 8 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the 200 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of a subject shooting what an anonymous complainant believed to be a BB gun. Police recovered a BB gun from a nearby rooftop where the juvenile told police he had thrown the gun.
Police say gang graffiti was spray-painted in black letters on the wooden fence on the north side of Thomas Street at the intersection of Rutledge Street and Thomas Street. The incident was reported on August 8.
A windshield of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Navajo Street and two windows of the residence where the vehicle was parked were reported shattered on August 8.
An officer responded to the 100 block of Lester Road on August 9 to investigate a disturbance. A female victim reported being slapped twice by another female who she did not know. Police are investigating.
Police say two vehicles were struck by rocks and damaged at the Old Plank Trail viaduct while driving southbound on Orchard Drive. The incidents occurred on August 9.
Darrell D. Lewis, 45, 22132 Meadow Lake Place, Richton Park, was arrested on August 10 and charged with resisting arrest when police responded to the 200 block of Birch Street to assist the Country Club Hills Police Department in an attempt to locate Lewis who was wanted on a charge of domestic battery in Country Club Hills.
An officer responded to the lobby of the Park Forest Police Department on August 10 in reference to a telephone harassment complaint. Police advised the victim of her Illinois Domestic Violence rights and provided information on how to acquire an order of protection.
A clay outdoor fireplace at a residence in the 100 block of Dogwood Street was reported knocked over and shattered on August 11.
A blue Schwinn mountain bike valued at $80 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of South Orchard Drive on August 11. The bicycle was stolen from a car port.
Shagmond F. Lowery, 35, of Indiana, was arrested on August 11 and charged with felony possession of an altered/counterfeit registration sticker when an officer on patrol traveling southbound on Forest Boulevard observed the vehicle Lowery was driving. The officer recognized the vehicle and plate due to issuing the vehicle a recent parking citation charging expired registration, according to police. During an interview, police say Lowery told them that his vehicle was unable to pass emissions testing in the summer of 2012, therefore he was unable to renew his vehicle’s registration. He therefore allegedly used Microsoft Word to create a registration sticker indicating an expiration of 2014, according to police. He then taped that registration to his vehicle’s license plate, according to police.
Update January 28, 2021: Per information provided by Mr. Lowery, Mr. Lowery waived a jury trial and entered a guilty plea on December 9, 2013, before Judge Brian K. Flaherty. The charge was amended to a misdemeanor on that date prior to Mr. Lowery’s plea. Mr. Lowery was fined $694 which he paid and was sent a conditional 24-month discharge on that same date. The case was favorably discharged on December 8, 2015.
A pizza delivery man was forced to the ground by four subjects ranging in age from 16 to 18 when he arrived at a residence in the 300 block of Marquette Street to deliver pizzas on August 12. Police say the man’s wallet, a flashlight, and his BlackBerry cell phone were stolen.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Titonka Street to investigate a battery complaint. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
The owner of a dog in the 300 block of Herndon Street was issued a citation on August 12 after the dog bit a mail carrier.
Three Rockford Fostgate 12 inch subwoofers, an amplifier, and other electronic equipment were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the area of Dogwood Street and court D-4 on August 12. Police say that the rear driver’s side opera window had been shattered to gain access.
Tamango M. Willis, 39, 1630 5th Avenue, Chicago Heights, was arrested on August 12 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, no front registration plate, and failure to properly secure a child under the age of 8, when an officer on patrol in the area of Shabbona Drive and Somonauk Street observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Shabbona without a front registration plate, according to police.
Police say three subjects between the ages of 15 and 18 attempted to grab a fourth juvenile and rob him on August 12. Police say the victim was able to elude the suspects while running along Lakewood Boulevard. The suspects attempted to grab him twice with negative results. The three suspects then ran away, towards South Orchard Drive.
Approximately 10 feet of copper pipe and a miter saw were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on August 12. Entry was gained to the residence by kicking in a door, according to police.
A window of a residence in the 300 block of Farragut Street was reported shattered on August 12.
A Garmin brand GPS was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of North Arbor Trail on August 13. Entry was gained to the vehicle by shattering the driver’s side window.
A car stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of 26th Street on August 13.
A double pane window located on the west side of Blackhawk School’s mobile unit was reported shattered on August 14. The school is located in the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive.
A window of a residence in the 100 block of Nashua Street was reported shattered on August 14.
A duffel bag, iPod speakers, a jar of coins containing $300 cash, an Xbox 360 game system, and a number of items of clothing are among items reported stolen from a burglarized residence in the first block of South Arbor Trail on August 14. Police say entry was gained by prying open a door.
