Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A Toshiba 42-inch flat-screen television valued at $500 was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of North Arbor Trail on December 2. Police have suspect information.

A resident returning to his vehicle the evening of December 10 at the Park Forest Metra lot realized that the license plates on his vehicle were not the proper plates. The resident responded to the Park Forest Police Department to report his license plates as stolen. Police learned that the license plates on the resident’s vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Homewood on December 8. The proper plates to the vehicle were entered into LEADS as stolen.

Two windows of a residence in the 300 block of Blackhawk Drive were reported shattered by hammers on December 15. Police spoke with to residence who related that they were sleeping when they heard glass break. When they got up, they found a hammer on the floor inside the house in the living room and another hammer on the floor inside a bedroom.

Two packages delivered to a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard were reported stolen on December 15.

Paul R. Wiltz, 28, 3310 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on December 16 and charged with retail theft when police responded to a business in the first block of Main Street to investigate a report of a male subject who fell in the vestibule of the business and was complaining of a broken leg. When police arrived, Wiltz appeared to be extremely intoxicated, according to police. Officers recovered two 25 oz. cans of Bud Ice that were partially hanging from his right and left pant legs, according to police.

The driver’s side mirror of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Rich Road was reported knocked off the mounting area, dangling by a power cord, on December 17.

A resident told police on December 17 that in the early morning hours of that day, he had received a telephone call from a male subject who identified himself as the resident’s grandson. He went on to say that he had gotten in trouble in Texas with the police and he needed $1500 to post bail. The resident told police that he was not suspicious because the caller sounded like his grandson. He prepared and sent 3 Money Pak Works cards in the amount of $500 each. He then went home and dialed a phone number that he had been given and provided someone who identified himself as "officer Ferguson" with the card numbers he had purchased. He spoke with his grandson later in the afternoon on December 17 and learned that his grandson had never been incarcerated while working in Texas. Police are investigating.

A 1982 white box trailer, Texas license A010243, was reported stolen from a business in the 2200 block of Western Avenue on December 18.

Diamante C. Kazee, 19, 3720 W. 176th St., Country Club Hills; Marque L. Ross, 18, 18053 Juneway Court, Country Club Hills; and Devonte L. Honey, 18, 6823 Hickory St., Tinley Park, were arrested on December 20 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling westbound on Arrowhead Street observed a vehicle parked facing westbound on the North side of the street. According to police, the interior of the vehicle appeared to be filled with smoke. Kazee additionally was issued a citation charging parking on the wrong side of the road.

Two television sets and unspecified types of jewelry were reported stolen during a residential burglary at a residence in the 300 block of Winnebago Street on December 21.

The UPS and FedEx mail receptacles in front of Park Forest Village Hall were discovered to have been pushed over on their sides in the early morning hours of December 21.

Watkeeta K. Valenzuela, 24, 160 Serena Dr., Chicago Heights, was arrested on December 21 and issued citations charging suspended registration, no insurance, and driving while license was suspended when an officer patrolling at Western Avenue and 26th Street observed the vehicle Valenzuela was driving and, after running the registration through LEADS, he discovered that the registration was expired, according to police. A passenger in the vehicle, Xavier A. Chambers-McLoyd, 22, 943 Olive Rd. Apt. 2B, Homewood, was arrested and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis after police discovered a Brown, hand rolled cigar containing a green, plant -like material, suspect cannabis in the vehicle. According to police, Chambers-McCloyd stated that the cigar was his. The vehicle was towed per local ordinance.

Deanna L. Watkins, 28, 23 East Rocket Circle, Park Forest, was arrested on December 21 and charged with domestic battery and resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to an open 911 line that was mapping to the area of the Park Forest Police Department, 200 Lakewood Boulevard. While en route, dispatch related that screaming could be heard in the background of the call from a male and female voice. Upon arrival, the driver was escorted out of the vehicle and spoke with officers. He advised that he was driving Watkins home. He stated that she allegedly had been drinking a large amount of alcohol and was attempting to get her home safely. He stated that as the vehicle was driving on Lakewood Boulevard from Sauk Trail, she allegedly became irate and began screaming and yelling at him, allegedly scratching the top of his head multiple times. The driver said he knew he was near the police department and called 911 for assistance.
