Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Laticia A. Johnson, 28, 331 Forest Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on October 15 and charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle when police responded to the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive to investigate a report of battery.
Maurissa R. Owens, 21, 197 Westwood Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on October 18 and charged with one count of assault when an officer responding to investigate another incident observed three subjects screaming and causing a disturbance in front of a residence in the 300 block of Seminole Street.
An officer patrolling in the 200 block of Blackhawk Drive discovered graffiti painted on the rear of a residence in that block on October 21.
An officer patrolling in the 100 block of Shabbona Drive discovered graffiti painted on a green electrical box in the Parkway on that block on October 21.
Devin T. Boswell, 27, 824 Greenbriar Ln., University Park, was arrested on October 21 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia when an officer patrolling northbound on Western Avenue approaching Indianwood Boulevard observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue with only one working headlight, according to police.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Nokomis Street on October 22 when a resident looked out his front window and saw a subject looking into the window of another residence in that block. The subject fled on foot when approached by the witness.
The rear passenger-side window and both rear view mirrors of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nanti Street were reported shattered on October 22.
Derek L. Williams, 29, 13 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 22 and charged with retail theft and criminal trespass to real property when police were dispatched to a business in the first block of Main Street in reference to a report of retail theft.
Cordel J. Franklin, 21, 1314 Lincoln Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on October 23 and charged with obstructing identification, violation of a bail bond, and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police on patrol in the 200 block of Kentucky Street detected the odor of burnt cannabis in the area. Police discovered a vehicle parked in that block that was filled with smoke, according to police.
A green and black lawnmower valued at $400 was reported stolen from outside a residence in the 200 block of Fir Street on October 23.
A window on the West side of Illinois School, 210 Illinois Street, was reported shattered on October 23.
A 32-inch LG smart television, a PlayStation 3 and an Xbox 360 game console were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 400 block of Neosho Street on October 23.
Clinton R. Brown, 42, 11358 S. Aberdeen St., Chicago, was arrested on October 24 and charged with driving while license was revoked, operating a motor vehicle without valid insurance, and disobeying a stop sign when an officer patrolling eastbound on 26th Street approaching the west side of Allegheny Street observed the vehicle Brown was driving turned right onto 26th Street, disobeying the stop sign, according to police. Brown was also charged with possession of cannabis, according to police.
An officer conducting a premise exam at Illinois School on October 24 discovered windows that had been shot through with BB pellets and screens that had slashes in them, according to police.
Isaac S. Tyus, 32, 14244 E. Winchester St., Dixmoor, was arrested on October 24 and issued citations charging possession of cannabis and illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger when officers on patrol near Lakewood Boulevard and Forest Boulevard were flagged down by Tyus who was near a vehicle that was stopped facing southbound on Forest Boulevard at Lakewood Boulevard. According to police, Tyus told them he just had a verbal altercation with his girlfriend who was still inside the vehicle. Police say Tyus was heavily intoxicated and allegedly admitted to drinking, according to police.
Jose D. Oliver Jr., 24, 8 Apple Ln., Park Forest, was issued citations charging failure to affix an animal tag and cruelty to animals when police responded to the first block of Apple Lane on October 25 after a caller reported that a dog was barking, "crying," and was allegedly being abused, according to police.
Two pairs of Air Jordan gym shoes and approximately $10 worth of change were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Homan Avenue on October 25. Police observed signs of forced entry to the rear passenger window of the vehicle.
Alysa A. Kline, 20, 68 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 26 and charged with reckless driving, speeding 26 mph over the speed limit, and disobeying a traffic control signal when an officer patrolling on Orchard Drive observed that the vehicle Kline was driving northbound on Orchard Drive from Westwood Drive appeared to be going well above the posted speed limit of 35 mph, according to police. The officer observed that the mounted radar unit showed the vehicle traveling 62 mph as it passed the officer’s police vehicle, according to police.
Andrew L.A. Washington, 22, 4221 Clark Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on October 25 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis and no rear plate light when an officer patrolling in the area of Monee Road and Monee Court observed that the vehicle Washington was driving did not have an illuminated rear registration plate light, according to police.
Melissa Williams, 40, 407 Pebble Beach Circle, University Park, was arrested on October 25 and charged with one felony count of aggravated driving while license was revoked and also issued citations charging one headlamp and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle when an officer patrolling northbound on Western Avenue observed that the vehicle Williams was driving had only one functioning headlamp, according to police.
The driver’s door window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Monee Road was reported shattered on October 28.
