Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

This weekend, there was only one report, as a large number are under review by one of the Deputy Chiefs. We will return to the PFPD Tuesday for a follow-up visit, subsequently bringing the public up to date.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," "Mr. Smith entered a guilty plea," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

Persons wishing to leave anonymous information on any criminal matters including narcotics or gang activity are encouraged to call 708-748-1309 and leave a message on Detective Beilke’s voice mail.

Juvenile Arrested After Dress Code Warning

A juvenile was arrested on October 2 and processed on charges of battery, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct when the juvenile allegedly refused to remove a shirt wrapped around his head at the request of an officer working at Rich East High School. The officer informed the juvenile that this was the second time he had been warned about the dress code violation, according to police.

Police say the officer first instructed the juvenile to go to the Dean of Discipline’s office for further disciplinary action due to his alleged refusal to comply with the request to remove his shirt from his head, telling the officer, "I’ll do whatever I want to do, leave me the f*ck alone." Police say the juvenile refused to go to the Dean’s office and began yelling at the officer while walking away from the officer. Police say the officer again asked the juvenile to go to the Dean’s office at which point the juvenile turned and, according to police, physically bumped the officer in the chest with his chest.

At that point, police say the juvenile was advised that he was under arrest. He was subsequently handcuffed and taken into custody, according to police.
